'Quack! Quack!'
"mmm" a mourn.
'Quack! Quack!Never, and I mean NEVER put your alarm clock as a duck sound.
I force my eyes open and snooze the alarm, yawning and closing my eyes again.
I need to be at the airport at 12:00 p.m and it's only 10:00 a.m. now.
The bed is warm and mom doesn't have a shift today, so if I oversleep, mom will probably wake me up.10:30 a.m.
'Quack! Quack!'
Snooze.
11:00 a.m.
'Quack! Quack!'
Snooze.
11:30 a.m.
'Quack! Quack!'
Snooze.
My bladder started to ache out of fullness.
That forces me to stand up, I take my phone with me.
Yawn and then I look at the time: 11:4711:47. "MOOOOMMMM!". I pull up my pants and yell again running downstairs to her room. "Mooooo-'' Her bed is already made.
I walk fast through the house, and everything is empty from a breathing soul.
Except the fridge.
We never write anything on the fridge unless it's important.
I go upstairs and grab my glasses and go back to the fridge:
I took an extra sift.
-Mom.Good way to hit a man when his down, I look at the time, 11:54.
So mom's not taking me to the airport, but an Uber will.
I order an Uber and grab a marker to write back on the fridge:I love you mom.
'Beep.'
I look down: 'your Uber drive is on his way"
I run up stairs and grab my suitcase and the two boxes that are coming with.
The Uber driver helps me pack my things in his trunk, but danm this man keeps watching me oddly, but I just brush it off. "Sir, I need you to get me at the Airport ASAP". He smiles at me and respond, "No problem miss, we will arrive in about 15 minutes." He opens the door for me, that's when I see what I am wearing. I'm wearing my lucky ducky onesie. Great, just FREAKIN' great. I just gave the driver a weak smile and a silent cry. My pj's was sunlight yellow, it had a tail and an orange beak with eyes. I'm a grown adult of 23, in a lucky ducky onesie on my way to the airport, sounds about right.
"Sir, umm do you maybe have some gum?"
"No sorry ma'am, but I have bubblegum from my nephew birthday party."
"That will be great, thank you." And he hands me the bubblegum. Well now my tongue is going to turn blue.
Beep.
I look down at my phone. 10%. A sight left my mouth. My charger is in my bag that is in the trunk. "Sorry to bother you again, do you maybe have an iPhone charger, mine is in my bag?" "Not at all bothering ma'am, but sorry I don't. Do you want me to pull over so you can get it out of the trunk?" "Oh no, we are almost at the airport, right." "Yes ma'am, we're about 8 minutes away." He looks at me through the car mirror and I give him a weak smile.
10 minutes later...

I pay the driver and start walking faster and faster to the entrance "Good luck, Miss Schoor!" I turn around and the Uber driver waves at me, I smile at him and wave back, "Thank you kind sir!" If somebody were to ask me what my worst day was this week, it will be this day, but if somebody were to ask me what the highlight of my day was, it will be this vary moment.
I enter the airport, like suspected people stared the whole time, here and there people laughed, but I didn't care. I stopped caring a long time ago and I asked someone to take a photo of me. I brushed my hair into a quick messy bun and threw a few poses. While I was standing in the line to go trough the metal detector I edited and posted my airplane pics. A teen behind me also asked if I could take a quick picture with her and if she could tag me. I was all for it. I gave her my Instagram @ and then right after that I went through the metal detector.

Now I just must wait until they call us to the gate, to give our plane tickets in.
That same girl came to me and asked if we could make a few Tik Toks. "Dear, can we make them on your phone and then you can just tag me, and I'll repost it, because I need my phone to get through the gates, because my ticket is on it." The teen girl didn't mind, and we did about 4 Tik Tok dances, I quite enjoyed it, it felt like I was bonding with 'my' little sister.
"Plane Afghanistan, leaving at 13:00, can you please move to the gate, I repeat, plane Afghanistan, leaving at 13:00, can you please move to the gate" The intercom rumbled.

I fall into the line and about 2 minutes I reach the front. "Your ticket, ma'am" A short blonde said in her blue uniform. I get out my phone and show her the plane ticket from the link. "I need it in hard copy." "Can you please help me ma'am, I don't have it in hardcopy and as you can see, I was already late, and I really just need to get onto this plane." a panicking voice escape from me. She looked concerned at me," Please just airdrop your ticket to me, okay, and don't stress I will just go print it before the plane ascends." I airdrop it to her phone and then my phone dies. I look up and give her a weak smile, don't cry, don't cry, don't cry. I already look stupid, with tears I'll look like a moron. "I've received it, thank you, you can go in." "I'm very grateful, thank you." I take my bags and boxes and walk thru the tunnel to the airplane .Legs in the air,I slip and fall.
I start scrabbling my things together. "Are you okay miss?" I look up. Good. No, I mean great, face to face with the captain. "I'm so sorry." He was tall, blond, and muscular and had ocean blue eyes. "No need to be sorry ma'am, may I please escort you to your seat." "I'll really appreciate it, because I'm starting to become to hate this day little more every second." He smiles at me and takes my bags and boxes. We step up the stairway and he ask, "What is your seat number ma'am?" "7, captain." "No need to call me captain, the name's James." I smiled at him and took my place in at my seat," No need to call me ma'am, my names Valida." He puts my bags and boxes away and look at me with a smirk. "Nice outfit, Valida" and he walks away but I eavesdrop on his conversation with the flight attendant, "You see that lady at seat 7, put her on my bill and make sure she enjoys her trip." I smile.
Change of plans, this will be the highlight of my day.
I get a sleeping pill out of my red handbag and sip it down with water.
