John's POV

Tonight was the night. It marked 8 years together. I was now 25 and she was 24. It was right. We had gotten things together even more and we now had our own house. It wasn't that big but it was perfect. It was a Ranch style house. A kitchen and a nice sized bathroom a living room and a spare room I kept band equipment in. We only had one bedroom and no guest room so we slept on the couch when we had compony and let them take our bed for the night unless it was one of the guys then we all just camped out in our living room for the night. She had two jobs. One for the band, a part time one at a coffee shop.
I've been paranoid all week. I even had Jared hold onto the ring for me so there was no chance of her finding it some how. Everything needed to be perfect. She was out all day with her best friend Alana who knew my plan but she had to promise me at least eighty times that she wouldn't slip up in anyway and tell Micah what I had planned.
I watched the hours pass by as i paced around nervously and kept practicing how I was going to ask her. "Micah, will you marry me?".. No too plain
"Micah, will you make me the happiest a man in the word and take my last name?".. Oh god no that sounds awful.
I started spitting out random lines and kept choking up on each one. I eventually collapsed to the floor in a fit of tears, I was unsure of where they even came from. I knew she was going to say yes so why was i worrying so much-.... what If she said no..
What if she laughed at me and said no and just left me for good and called me pathetic. A bunch of different scenes played through my head. Many of them of her telling me she never loved me which made no sense at all but they still played out in my head until I felt my stomach start to turn. I sprung up off of the floor and booked it to the bathroom like the god damn road runner. I nearly hit my head off the sink as i collapsed down in font of the toilet, practically sticking my head into it as I lost my lunch.. And breakfast. I kept gagging and threw up until there was nothing but bile and once that was up I started dry heaving. The color in my skin had drained and if I looked at myself I look like a ghost. Ghost John. GHOST THATS FUCKING IT. I forced myself up onto my feet, making myself look into the mirror as I choked out shaky words. "Micah, can I keep you.. forever?" She would understand it the second she saw the ring. It was her favorite quote just twisted slightly to fit the situation. That's it. That's what I would say!
I cleaned myself up and must have brushed my teeth a million times.

John wondered around a small park hand in hand with Micah. She kept playfully picking on him for his hands being so sweaty little did she know why. They had already gone out to eat and John knew it wasn't the right place or time to do it there. The two wondered around the park dressed up. Micah was wearing a slim fitting black dress and John was wearing a button up dress shirt and black dress pants. The one thing that stuck out about them both was the fact they both had on a pair of black converse although they didn't match their outfits Micah had insisted on it.

John glanced up at the night sky to see see the stars, now was the time. He led Micah over to a small tree and took both her hands into his and had her face him. He cleared his throat slightly as he lost color in his face. Micah became rather concerned was he about to break up with her? That's what ran through her mind "John are you ok-" she was cut off quickly.

"Micah, I need to ask you something very important.." He spoke softly as he let go of her hands pulling out a small box that contained the ring. John leaned down to get on one knee as he opened the box, holding out the ring to her "Micah, can I keep you forever?"

His eyes swelled with tears as he looked up at her already tear soaked cheeks. Micah nodded her head quickly as she choked out the simple word that would determine their future together. "Yes!"
John felt his heart skip a beat and a wave of relief wash over his body. He delicately slid the ring onto her finger with shaky hands before he got up and neatly tackled her to the ground in a hug.
The two spent the next hour simply embracing each other while whispering I love you's under the stars.
