The next two hours passed by in a blur. A mix of scared faces and questions piled into Cassie's head. Unfortunately, the girls couldn't avoid the ambulance ride to the hospital, which led them to the uncomfortable beds that laid in the ER, with an apologetic Tyler that was stationed next to them.

"You saw what happened, right?" Cassie asked, turning to Bella.

"Yeah." Bella answered. "I just can't believe it."

"Crazy." Cassie mumbled, the whole thing replaying in her head.

Suddenly, Chief Swan burst into the room, Erica hot on his heels.

"Bella!" He exclaimed, rushing to her side, glaring at Tyler. "You and I are going to talk!"

"Dad I'm fine."

Before she could comprehend anything, Erica pulled Cassie into a bone crushing hug, that could probably injure her more than the crash. "Cass! Thank goodness you're ok! Do you need anything?" Erica asked, examining Cassie's face for scratches.

"Erica, I'm fine. Where's Chris?" Cassie asked, softly pushing her step-mom away.

"He's giving a statement in the waiting room." Erica replied, pulling Cassie into a hug again, giving Tyler her best mom glare.

"I'm so sorry guy. I tried to stop!" Tyler said, his eyes pleading and flickering.

"You're good. It was an accident." Cassie replied, when Erica finally let her go.

"It sure as hell is not good. You both could have been killed." Charlie replied, giving Cassie a look that reminded her of a concerned father.

The emergency room door swung open, pulling everyone's attention to a man that looked like a Hollywood model. By the way his skin glistened, and his golden eyes, Cassie immediately could tell that was Jasper's father.

"I heard Erica's daughter was in town!" He said. "And I couldn't keep the chief's daughter waiting." Dr. Cullen said, grabbing a clipboard from a star struck nurse. "I've got this Jackie." He said, offering her a dazzling smile. Cassie looked up at her Step-mom, and saw her quickly fixing her hair, and offering him a smile.

"Cassandra." Dr. Cullen said, when he reached her bed. "It seems like you weren't injured. Are you experiencing any dizziness, or headaches?" He asked, shinning a light into her green eyes.

"Um, no. I feel fine." Cassie replied.

"Perfect." He said, smiling at Cassie, before moving onto Bella.

Erica hugged her for the third time that day. "Thank god!" She mumbled into Cassie's hair.

"It's a good thing Jasper and Edward were there. They pushed us out of the way." Cassie said, this pipping Dr. Cullen's interest.

"Your boys?" Charlie asked, turning to the doctor.

"Yeah. It was insane. They got to us so fast, they weren't even near us." Bella continued, eyeing Dr. Cullen.

Cassie noticed that paperwork seemed to be very interesting to Dr. Cullen, "Yes, well. Let's be grateful for that. Alright. Cassie you're all set to go, Bella let's get you checked out. Erica, your free to leave. Spend some time with your daughter." Cullen dismissed.

"Thank you, Dr. Cullen." Erica said, a small glint in her eyes.

Erica pushed open the ER doors, Cassie elbowing her playfully. "Erica, you're a married woman." She said, smirking.

"What?" Erica asked, playing dumb. "No idea what you mean." She said, avoiding eye contact.

"Thank you, Dr. Cullen." Cassie mocked, wiggling her shoulder. "I saw that glint in your eyes."

"Hush!" Erica said, pushing Cassie away from her.

"Cassie!" A pixie like voice called her. The two girls turned, and saw Alice making her way towards Cassie. Erica smiled at Cassie, telling her she would wait by the doors. The moment Alice reached Cassie, she pulled her into a soft hug. Not knowing what to do, Cassie awkwardly patted Alice's back.

"Alice you're smothering her." Jasper said, reaching his sister, his voice having no emotion.

"Sorry." Alice said, letting Cassie go. "I'm Alice. And you're Cassie! Jasper hasn't been able to stop talking about you since you moved here." She said, giving Jasper an evil smile.

"Alice-" Jasper started but was interrupted.

"He was really worried about you. Weren't you?" Alice said, grabbing Cassie's hands.

Jasper didn't respond, just stared at her. "Can't you go annoy Emmet or someone?" Alice giggled, a tinkling sound that dazzled Cassie. With that, she danced away, joining her family.

"Ignore her." Jasper said, walking closer to Cassie. "She just likes to annoy me sometimes."

"How's you do that?" Cassie asked, ignoring his previous statement."

"Do what?" Jasper played dumb.

"Get to me so fast? You where across the parking lot." Cassie said, continuing to interrogate him.

"What do you mean? I was only a few feet away from you."

Cassie squinted her eyes, then crossed her arms. " No, you weren't."

"Yes, I was." Jasper continued. "I think you might have some adrenaline pumping through you."

"Don't do that!"

"Do what?"

"That!" Cassie exclaimed, motioning to Jasper. "Acting like I'm stupid! I know what I saw."

Jasper, shook his head. "You know. Most people would just be thankful."

Cassie glared at Jasper for a moment, before letting out an annoyed breath. "Thank you, Jasper Hale." She said through gritted teeth.

"You're welcome, Cassandra." He responded, with a sickly sweet smile, before joining Alice with his family.

***********

Once in the car, Erica then pushed Cassie, giving her the same smirk Cassie gave her. "Cassandra."

"What?" Cassie asked, turning to the blonde.

"You want to speak to me about glistening eyes?" Erica teased.

"What do you mean? I wasn't looking at Dr. Cullen with-" Cassie started, but Erica interrupted her.

"I'm not talking about Carlisle!" She said, giving Cassie a weird look. "I'm talking about that Jasper kid. The way you two where looking at each other reminds me of how dogs look at treats."

Cassie flinched at that statement. Sure, she had a small crush on Jasper, but there was no way she looked at him in any way. "No idea what your talking about." She denied, turning away from her.

"Mhm, I'm sure, I can see it now." Erica smiled, "Duh Dun Duh-" She started humming a wedding song, making Cassie laugh, and push her slightly.

"Ok, now your really over thinking this." She laughed, as her step-mom continued to sing about a wedding day, that was never to come.
