Esme approached the girls as soon as they climbed out of the jeep. Putting her arms over each girls shoulders, she welcomed them onto the playing field. "Goof thing you're here girls." She said, leading the, away from the boys. "We're in need of a couple Umpires."
"She thinks we cheat." Emmet said, a cocky grin on his face, tossing a baseball between his hands.
"Oh, I know you do." Cassie said, sending him a playful smirk. Emmet made a sound of disbelief, then took her hat, smacking her on the head with it.
"Jasper, did you hear what she said?" Emmet said, putting his hand over his heart.
"Can't handle the heat?" He asked, taking the baseball hat, and putting it back on Cassie's head. The two of them continued to throw insults, while Esme lead the girls away.
"Call em' as you see em', girls." She said with a smile.
Jasper joined them behind the home plate, using the bat to do tricks. "Careful Bella, Edwards a sore loser." He warned, sending an evil smirk to Edward.
"Careful Cass, Jasper's a shit player." Edward shot back, glaring at his adoptive brother.
"Play nice." Esme said, laughing along with Cassie. Jasper joined his team, while Alice, Edward, and Emmet made their way onto the field. The petite vampire made her way onto the pitchers mound, while the rest stood on the outfield.
Lighting flashed through the skied, thunder booming through the air a few seconds later. Alice smiled, looking at the family, "It's time."
Rosalie took the plate, bat ready. Her gaze narrowed, as Alice kicked her leg up, tossing the ball towards the batter. Cassie barley had time to process the game started, when a loud crack rang through her ears. She saw a flash of white fly through the air, and into the surrounded forest.
"Ok, now I see why you need the thunder." Bella said, as Cassie watched Rosalie disappear from the batter position.
"That's gotta be a home run, right?" Cassie asked, not taking her eyes off of Rosalie.
"Edward's very fast." Esme said, not taking her eyes off the game. Not even a second passed, and the ball flew from the woods. Esme caught it with ease, touching the home plate, right as Rosalie slid in. "Girls?"
"You're out." Bella said, Cassie smiling watching her friend stand up to the vampire.
Rosalie scoffed, glaring at the two human girls. "Babe, come on, it's just a game!" Emmet yelled from the field. The blonde didn't say anything, just shoved passed Cassie and Bella.
"Nice kitty." Carlisle teased, as he took the plate. Alice threw the ball, Carlisle taking off. Cassie laughed as Emmet and Edward tried to grab the ball, but ended up crashing into each other, sending another crack through the air.
Jasper approached the plate, sending Cassie a wink. He ran through the plates, until Emmet jumped into the tree, catching the ball. Jasper let out a few cussing, as Emmet rubbed his success in his face. "My monkey man." Rosalie said, smirking at her man.
