Seriously thank you all. I am so grateful so many of you like this fun little piece of fanfiction I have going here. It really left me speechless and emotional. It also made me work hard to get this chapter written and done to post for you today already. And it is longer than the first one :-) I make no promises on how long this story will be or if I will write the next chapters just as fast, but I do know there will be at least one or 2 chapters more.

Anyway you are not here to read my rambling thank you notes at least I don't hope you are, so here we go, Chapter 2.

Chapter 2

When the Knight came to himself again, he had been moved to a room within the castle and he could hear low voices speaking around him, but he only recognized the voice of the young Lady whom he had met just before he fainted. The very same Lady whom was now pressing cold clothes to his forehead in an attempt to wake him up. He could hear how the others around them addressed her, as she told them, she had it handled, and they were free to take their leave, and she would call if she needed anything else. That was also how he came to learn, that she wasn't just any Lady of the court, this was The Lady of the court, the Queen, herself. He was of course astonished to learn so, but also to see her in person, and see just how beautiful and lovely she really was, with her green eyes, and hair in the color of warm golden honey, taken just from the bees nest. He knew right away that she was the most beautiful lady, he had ever met in all the countries and towns he had traveled through his life so far. The knight also felt he would feel better, if he was just a little while longer in her presences, like being near her alone would make him fresh again.

The queen had at that point noticed he was awake and had begun to ask him how he was feeling now, as she moved around the room, looking through old tombs of books. He knew he couldn't lie to the Queen, nor did he really want to, but at the same time he didn't want to seem weak in front of her. So the Knight tried to put up a strong front for her. However the Queen was just as smart as she was beautiful, so she saw right through him, and knew he wasn't feeling well at all.

The Knight tried to distract her from it though by tempting her with the knowledge of why he was there instead of back in his own country at home recovering from his wound. At first the Queen played if off as she wasn't interested at all, but it didn't take long for her to admit that she did wonder about it as she did have a curious side to her, regarding all the people she treated.

The Knight told her the tale about a dear old lady who lived in his city, she was loved by her sons and daughters, and grand children, and many others through the city, and how she had taken ill, so he and his company had set out to collect the healing medicine they could only get in the Queen's country, at her very own court. They needed the medicine to have any hope of ever curing the well loved lady lady back at his home, and he felt he needed to go along to help them and be sure they got the medicine.

The Knight could see the Queen's face filled with sympathy, after all she was a healer herself and one who helped everyone that came to her, to be treated, with her magic powers. He knew she understand why he had done gone now. The problem was he was still wounded and he now feared from how she was looking through tomb after tomb of books, that he might have put his own life at risk by going, and his wound wasn't actually healed and treated fully after all. He asked her about this, actually he begged her to tell him his ride hadn't costed him his own life. As he asked her, he could see the stained smile on her face, and though she tried to pretend she didn't know for sure yet, he also knew it was a very likely possibility.
