Author's Note: I FINALLY DID IT! I CAME UP WITH A NEW CHAPTER! This took literally the whole month. I hope you enjoy.
In the morning, Eiji wakes up without an Ash next to him. He notices that both of the pillows are damp with tears. This was the only pillow I used, he thinks, was Ash crying too? Have I burdened him with my problems? Brushing all of his doubts out of his away, he wanders into the kitchen. The apartment is dead silent, but still, he finds a plate with toast sitting on the counter, next to two plates, littered with crumbs. He takes the cold toast and starts scrolling through the news on his phone. It's mostly just politics he doesn't understand, a few big events happening and some reported crimes.
After about three minutes of Eiji soaking in the bright sun through the windows, Ash busts through the door with Bones and Kong. Bones shutting the door behind them. Kong rushes over to Eiji and pushes him to the ground, shielding him with his body. Laying on his back, Ash holds his gun out towards the door and waits for something to come in. No one dares to make a sound. After about a minute, Ash lowers his guard and everyone takes in the breath they were holding. Kong stands up and offers a hand to Eiji, which he gratefully accepts.
"What just happened?" Eiji asks in awe of their mobility
"Just a run in with a couple cops" Ash replies between heavy breaths
"Alright then, are you guys hurt at all?" He asks, scanning each of them up and down, a thick silence follows "I'm gonna take that as a no."
They all shuffle over to the couch and collapse, kicking off their shoes. Ash sits and the left end, then Kong, then Bones and Eiji is sitting on the arm rest at the right. A smell arises from their feet, choking Eiji, he tries to conceal it. None of them notice and proceed to wrap stolen bandages and wraps around their ankles and wrists. Which Eiji just presumes is for the backlash of gun usage or twisting their ankles while running so fast. He turns on the T.V and sees BREAKING NEWS: SHOOTING IN POPULAR BAR LOCATED ON XX STREET. Frozen, Eiji keeps it running and continues watching it. "6 dead, 17 wounded" the reporter states "cops are currently chasing the suspected culprit."
"Did you do this!" Eiji exclaims standing up, eyes widened
"Yeah" Ash says plainly, as though it's obvious "I did"
"Why!" Eiji has never been angry at Ash ever, but this pisses him off, it's more like an annoyance
"Look, I get that you haven't been here for a couple of years, but things have changed all right" Ash stands up, his tone is threatening "New gangs have moved in are trying to take my spot at the top, and if that happens, everything will go to shit!" Ash almost yells "I didn't shoot first" he finally states as he sits back down.
Eiji lets out a huff and plops back down. He switches the channel to a cartoon kid's show, throws the remote on to the coffee table and walks back to Ash's room. He slams the door. With a hand pressed against the window, he leans down to look at the city. Why am I so angry? He thinks, I've seen him kill before, so what is my problem? No, I shouldn't be blaming myself for this, I had nothing to do with his actions. Why is he acting like this? Why does he have to kill- Ash softly closes the door and slips his arms around Eiji's waist from behind.
"Are you okay?" he says into Eiji's right ear
"Yeah, sorry I don't know why I got so angry" Eiji says, letting his forehead fall against the glass
"You don't have to apologize" Ash says reassuringly "I'm sure you're not used to this kinda stuff anymore, you've only been here for like a day"
"Mm" is all Eiji says back
