Chapter 4: Coven follies

Hunter's P.O.V.

The sky is orange with a yellow blushing within it. Dinner will be ready and then night will alproa- but a familiar sound echos to me. Picking up the scroll, I check and find a message from Eddie. 'Ill be out tonight, and my parents won't be planning on seeing you because they got a big project to work on.'.

In curiosity while mildly joyed, I ask a question. 'Out? Is there a special occasion?'. But it hits me... That whole parade. All around you get the honor of seeing the old geezer's mask. 'Actually, nevermind. I know where.'. And just as I put down the scroll to stop texting, the little black monster comes in. Usually he'd come running in as if consuming way too much candy, but not this time.

King walks in slowly, rubbing his toe on the ground with claws behind his back as if a child about to confess spilling the milk. "Ok, I get it. What now?" "Uhh..." Is his response to me at first. "Well... Me and Eda are going to the- you know." I sit up instead of lying on my belly. "What about it." He can say 'Emperor' if he wants. It's not a swear. "Wouldn't Eda give you a ride there since she's going anyway?" Is what I ask in return, thinking he just wants to be taken there.

"That's not it. I mean do you want anything bring back?" I think for a moment but that thought gets interrupted. "King! Amity's here so is Luz!" I scramble to my feet while running to the door and so does King.

I rush out to see Luz who spontaneously greets both King and I with a hug as Eda grabs her staff from within the house.
