Chapter 2: Odelia

Odelia's P.O.V.

Edric's been over at the peasant house for an awfully long time... What could he be doing? Sometimes he's over there even when Amity isn't. But a glance out of the open window shows me Edric on his staff, then landing on the ground. And too showing Amity walking to him.

"Edric! It's almost nighttime. Even with Luz I don't take that long." Edric shakes his head. "Yeah but I feel like he gets lonely over there." He tells her as they both walk into the manor. Does Edric have a boyfriend or something? And so I walk down there, curious of who this could be. Is he poor? Can't have two kids of mine dating peasants.

Once I reach where they enter the door, I walk to them as I ignore Alador sleeping with his head on the table with his goggles still on. Edric and Amity stop in there tracks at me blocking there way. "Go on, Amity. I need to talk to Edric." I say with a frown as he may have actually been hiding this for a while. The two exchange worried looks at each other before Amity has no choice but to go off.

Only me, him and the guy sleeping on the table. "Edric. Do you have a boyfriend?" The very blunt question causes Ed to seemingly have a panic attack. "What? Me? You think I could?" His face going bright red. This makes me roll my eyes. "A mother always knows. I've met the human. If I accepted her, how bad can this next one be?" He takes a shaky breath. "I don't know if he'd like to- I mean, he has major anxiety and has a hard time making friends. 

"What if I meet his parents. Maybe that could put him at ease." "Mom, I don't know-" Pinching the bridge of my nose, I lose the facade. "I know why you've been going to that house. Is his mother that owl?" If it's true... How can I accept that? Especially if he's as bad as the human. Edric's eyes go wide, looking at his sleeping dad, probably hoping he'd awaken.

"C'mon. Invite him to dinner. I'm sure he'd be a delight." "I'll check with him. I'll uhh... See what I can do." Maybe I'll actually consider visiting that house myself if I don't meet him soon. Can't have him ending up with an improper witch.
