Part 7

"Someone! Please help me! My grandma! Please!" I saw tears falling down my cousin's eyes as she said those words. I looked around and saw that I was at a hospital. I looked to my mum and grandpa and I saw them crying. I looked around the room room and saw my grandmum on a hospital bed;Lifeless. They were crying. I felt a tear slide down my face and I ran to my cousin. I hugged her. "Its alright.. She's a fighter." she says holding me tight. I hugged her and nodded. I saw my grandfather and I saw him hold her hand. I cried and cried remembering all the tragic moments that my grandparents have helped me with. I think I knew my grandmother knew she was about to die because she was smiling. I smiled at her helpless body. I knew one thing for sure. I wasnt ready to let go. She was everything to me. I saw the heartbeat of my grandmum drop. I tried to run to her but my feet wouldnt let me.

I cried and cried asking my cousin;David to let me go. I gave up and kneeled down. I prayed to God to keep her safe. I smiled as I looked at her pictures. I sang along to the words of Welcome To My Life by Simple Plan.

I cried myself to sleep that night. Knowing things will be alright.

I woke up breathless. I couldnt think straight so I shook my head and picked up my guitar. I sang slowly the words to Someone New by Hoizer. As I finished the song, I looked at the sky and noticed that one star that was shining. It was so lonely but I knew that someday that little star will be so happy to be with me. I felt as if that little star was for me. It was there to guard me. I shook it off and kissed the picture of my grandmum at the side of my table. I sighed and went back to bed letting the darkness consumer me completely.

I woke up feeling great. I smiled at everyone at home and headed to Starbucks to get some iced choco before I headed to school. I opened Chatme and saw Zoren was online.

I felt a little energy inside my body shover down my spine. I chatted Zoren and sipped my iced choco.

Me: Zoren! How are you?
Zoren: Im fine! I missed you! *picks you up and spins you around.*
Me: Hey! You cant even carry me XD
Zoren: You know I am taller and I go to the gym right?
Me: Really? I didnt know! *fake gasps*
Zoren: Youre so mean sometimes u know that?
Me: Yup! You are too! You dont see me complaining now do you? ;)
Zoren: That's cause ur weird!
Me: I can weird when I feel likeit bub! Cant judge me! Haha XD
Zoren: I know you too well haha So what time is it where u are?
Me: Oh. Its 6:00 am. I woke up early so I decided to stop buy Starbucks and get some iced choco.
Zoren: Ohh!! Ok. Haha so what did u guys do last Sunday? I waited for you..
Me: Lol! Omg Im so sorry! I was at a steak out with my cousins and family. Larz thought you were my boyfriend! >.<
Zoren: yeah haha lol! Well its almost 7:15 am and I remember you telling me that your school is hella far from your place.
Me: Heck yeah it is!
Zoren: Dont u wanna get going?
Me: Do you want me to leave?
Zoren: No but your going to be late.
Me: Fine! Just remember aim higher than a D on the exams!
Zoren: Just cause ur smart and older doesnt mean you can boss me around.
Me: It does to me babe ;)

I closed the app and finished my iced choco. I walked to school and got there at exactly 7 am sharp. I saw a familiar face waiting by the gate. She hugged me and said she missed me and I did the same. It was Danielle. I havent heard from her since she moved to Math High School. She finally said her last goodbye to us and Trina, Alexa, Patricia, Kayra, Dianne, Alex, and Ralph headed to our seperate classrooms.

As we entered class, I placed my head down and saw Karl pass by. He smiled at me so I smiled back. I really couldnt stop thinking about Zoren. Was he ok? Did he like me back? Why did La Rae break up with him? Why was he so suspicious the last time we talked? I let my thoughts drift me away from whatever my teacher was discussing. It was about how light travels faster than sound. I knew about it already.

"Ms. Waters! What travels faster? Light or sound?" She said as she crossed her arms. I smirked and answered,"Light travels faster because light is faster than anything." She nodded and motioned me to come closer. I nodded and walked to her side. "Ms. Guess and Mr. Adams, please come too. Class, open your books to page 345." she said motioning the three of us outside.

I walked nervously with my head down. I smiled at my classmates and we all looked at her with confused looks. "You three, Jessica, Joe and Jerica, are chosen to compete during the debate against the other campus. I was shocked with what I heard and jumped for joy. I never thought they'd choose me. I smiled at myself and we were given the topic.

Later that night, Joe and Jerica skyped me and we did our research work. Since we were also allowed not to have homework, we did our research work instead. I was chosen as the practicablity speaker. I knew one person who wouldve been so proud right now. My grandmum.

I opened chatme and decided to tell Zoren the good news.

Me: Zoren! I have news!
Zoren: Me too. I have something to tell you! But you go first.
Me: I got chosen to be a part of the debate team!
Zoren: wow! Dont they choose the smartest students they have? Hahah XD jk
Me: Hey! I can be smart! Also we arent allowed to join the stage play til we finish the debate so its a win win situation for me!
Zoren: You! Are one lazy ass hahab XD
Me: why thank you! Haha so your news?
Zoren: I have a girlfriend! Her name is Lacey! She makes me happy.
Me: Woah! Haha im so happy for you! U being happy makes me happy already XD
Zoren: Thanks! Sorry but I have to go! Classes are starting!
Me: ok! Bye! Take care!
Zoren: You too!

I felt a tear slide down my cheek as we chatted. He had a new girlfriend. Answers two of my questions. He is alright and happy and he doesnt feel the same way. I faked a smile and let the tears fall.

As much as I didnt like Lacey to be with him, I couldnt stop him from being happy! What kid of best friend would I be? I cried and cried until slowly. I let myself lay to rest.

I woke up and looked at the mirror. I saw the stains that my tears left last night. I recalled the words he said. "I have a girlfriend." "She makes me happy." I cried again and this time I told himself that things will get better and this is a challenge that God gave me. " Bring. It. On!" I said standing up.
