In the village everyone was sound asleep inside their homes. Adults and children unaware of a demon loitering in their hometown.
You walked slowly, after everything that happened, you couldn't help but feel aggravated by how unfair your life is.
You needed to release some stress, you would usually consult Kyojuro whenever you felt this way, but he is currently out of reach right now. You sighed, 'Why couldn't have life been different?'
Once you reached the site where the demon was mostly active, you silently waited.
The stars appeared like glitter across the sky. As you stared, you suddenly became aware of a hidden figure behind you.
"You can come out now."
You turned back and withdrew your sword, facing the tip of the weapon towards the demon.
"Easy now, I won't hurt you."
The demon raised his hands up,
"You don't look like a human, are you perhaps...a demon?"
Your eyes twitched, you don't have time for this.
"No, im not."
You lowered your sword and walked towards the demon.
"I wouldn't fight if I were you, I'm not the demon your looking for."
The demon was right, ugh, why were you always running into demons you aren't looking for! Because of your terrible luck, they have all been stronger than you!
You complied and stood still.
"Good choice. My name is Akaza, I don't like to kill women so you shouldn't worry about your life.....for now.
Since I smelled a particular smell coming from you, I was wondering what direction you were entering from."
Was the demon (or Akaza) smelling Doma? You noticed how Akaza also had a marking on his eye, you couldn't read it because of the distance separating you and him.
You raised your finger and pointed to the direction,
"Just go straight for about 5 miles."
Akaza looked and then smiled at you.
"Thank you, you are quite odd for being a demon slayer."
And with a blink of an eye, Akaza was gone.
What in the world was that?
Two incredibly strong demons didn't try to kill you? Saying that aloud sounds like a fever dream.
You brushed it off and tried to search for the demon;
You waiting here is like a death sentence waiting to happen.
You walked a couple of miles until you spotted a cave, the owl said it was somewhere around here.
Everything was calm..... unusually calm.
You listened for bugs or any sign of wildlife, but no noise was heard.
With the sword still in your hand, you ventured into the cave.

"Look who it is... a little snack...."
The sound of a croaky voice made you turn around, your body froze. What the-
A creepy looking demon loomed over you,
"What an ugly-looking girl you are."
You scoffed, " Your one to talk."
The female demon maliciously smiled,
"Shut up, Bitch."
Her smile faded as she ran towards you in anger, she raised her arms up and sharp wooden spikes sprouted.
You raised your sword, and blocked her attack.
The demon's moves were quick, although you were holding well on your own, you knew it was only a matter of time before you'll get hurt.

Several minutes later, you noticed this fight getting absolutely nowhere. It seemed like you were the one who's moves were getting sloppy.
With every slash of your sword, the demon regenerate twice as fast.
"Come on! Die already!!!"
You sensed impatience in the woman's voice, a spike sprouted in the woman's hand, almost touching the bottom of your chin.
"Ah!"
You were stuck, your life was in the hands of this demon. You tightly closed your eyes and braced for impact.
But it never came.
You opened your eyes and saw.... Kyojuro.
He was breathing heavily, he spun towards you,
"Y/N! That demon was tough huh?"
You sat still on the floor, you didn't know what to feel. Angry because he ghosted you for weeks or happy because he's finally here.
He ran towards and slammed into you, he buried his face in the corner of your neck.
"I'm sorry for leaving you so abruptly."
You returned the hug with hesitation, but it quickly vanished when you realized that Kyojuro was indeed real.

"I was going to check on you, but then Master Ubuyashiki assigned me on a last minute mission. Once I was done, I returned to the butterfly estate only to find that you had already left. So, I asked Shinobu and she told me you'd be here."
You stared at the dirt; Pieces of water and crystals scattered across the ground
" Oh.....I'm glad to hear that."
Kyojuro released his hold on you, his hands gliding down your arms until they reached your hands. He looked at your long demon-like nails, carefully observing the unusual pattern of each nail.
"Kyojuro, do you still love me?"
It was silent for a moment, you could tell Kyojuro was gathering his thoughts.
"Why wouldn't I? Your not a demon, you just had a special 'glow up.' I will never stop loving you, in fact this change made my love stronger."
You looked at him in disbelief, " So if I do end up turning into a demon you would stop loving me?"

Kyojuro's heart stopped for a second, his eyes widened as he realized how his comment could've been taken the wrong way.
You noticed his hesitation and removed yourself from his embrace.
You went around him and sped away from the cave, you heard Kyojuro's voice call out to you.
"Y/N!"
You briefly looked back in hopes of his figure disappearing, thankfully you had gotten away from him.
You were angry, depressed, and above all disappointed. Doma was right, demon or not this situation was bound to happen.
You exited the cave and sharply turned into a corner, you were met with a hard bump against your forehead.
It was Kyojuro.
"Y/N, I have no idea what's gotten into you. You didn't even let me respond! Yes, I have to admit I was scared, but not because of you being a demon. It was for.... your life."
As Kyojuro stared at you, his eyes displayed a sad- worried emotion.
"Shinobu told me the chances of you living, needless to say, it was very slim. I was worried that I would have to be the one to kill you which is why I distanced myself from you to make the pain less... painful. That obviously didn't work because I ended up coming back for you."
He watched your movements to see if you were going to respond. Kyojuro lowered his head, his bright orange-red hair dangling off the edges of his face.
"Look, I'm sorry Y/N, please don't get the wrong idea about what I said earlier." Kyojuro slowly raised his head, red eyes staring into your (E/C) eyes as if to find an answer.
You broke eye contact and let your eyes wander somewhere else.
Deep down you knew Kyojuro was telling the truth, since the four years you had known each other not once had he lied to you.
There should be no reason for you to think this way about him... after all he is a good husband.
You faced him again, "I'm.... I should be the one who is sorry, I assumed you didn't love me anymore and I encountered somebody who told me lies about you which made me believe my assumption even more."
You frowned.
"I should've known better."
Kyojuro smiled, "Haha- well I guess both of us have made mistakes, how about we move on from them... together?"
You kept your gaze on Kyojuro's face, there were so many beautiful features that made Kyojuro look more handsome than he already is.
You were dumb to question Kyojuro's love for you, you can see it in his eyes and feel it whenever he's around you.
Kyojuro raised his hand and held it out for you.
Despite tears slowly dripping down your face, you smiled and placed your hand in his.
"Yes, I would love to."
Kyojuro gave you a teethy smile,
"Now how about that lunch I agreed to treat you with! IM STARVING!"
