What was I running from, myself or them? They followed close behind me; treading the same land. I could feel myself changing, becoming their puppet. It was dark and foggy as I stared out of the store's window. I looked to my left only to be greeted by a loose flier thrown in my face by Jeff. "This one!"
"Well, what is it?"
"Acting...-"he took a brief pause "-at a horror attraction." He knows I'm squeamish, I used to get bullied for it in school, I'm 18 now. I thought about it for a minute. Maybe it was a good idea; it would definitely prove I'm not the man I used to be.
"Yes, okay" My heart raised to my head. I had thought about it but obviously not logically. I took a deep breath and returned to the car with the leaflet in hand.
The next morning, people gave me strange looks as if I was some kind of hand grenade being thrown at them. Jeff was sitting in the passengers' seat of my citron prepared to leave, so I drove. We both had rent to catch up on and debt to pay off. This was just easy money.
When we arrived at the 'destination', it wasn't what I had expected and it didn't match the small photo on the leaflet at all in fact they were entirely different. The leaflet had made it out to be the back of a theater but this certainly was not. This was an old warehouse, derelict and isolated from all society. A girl arrived soon after us.
