。◕The sun glistened upon my skin, making me appear as if I was made of pure gold. I layed in the fields with my mother, picking up fresh berries so she could make her signature pie. The fields were so vibrant and calming. Oh how I loved coming here.

"That should be enough." My mother placed her two baskets filled with berries on the grass and I did the same. We sat down and admired what nature had to offer. Birds chirping beautifully, wind swaying from left to right, grazing my skin ever so slightly. How wonderful can mother nature be?

The short-lived silence was soon cut off by my mother speaking,"So, what kind of guys are you into, that's if you are into guys?" My mother giggled like a little school girl asking her friend who her crush is. She is such a charm, so elegant and gorgeous, yet she keeps her dignity and knows her morals.

"Well, let me think about it... I like a tall, dark and handsome man, or maybe an angelic blonde with dreamy blue eyes, or maybe a sexy, charming and sweet man."

"So the city type?" She asked.

I've never been to the city, and I've always dreamt of moving there, meeting a great person that I could spend the rest of my life with. There isn't much to grasp on the farms. I don't mind farm boys, but my father would not allow me to be with who I want, with who my heart desires. Instead I have to abide by his rules. What a sick old man. As much as I love him so much, I really don't appreciate him trying to control my whole life. Last time, when I was ten, he brought a random boy over to our house and demand that I married him. Of course I denied and my mother had to do some heavy convincing for him to call it off. I WAS TEN!!

"Somewhat..." I replied feeling a little excited at the thought of actually falling in love with someone.

"Let me tell you something, I once fell for those gorgeous men in the city." She whispered, grabbing a berry from the basket and eating it.

I would be lying if I said I wasn't invested in her little love story. I want to know how the city was, was it any different from here? I leaned closer to here what interesting story my mother had to tell.

"His name was Romano, a wealthy and my was he so handsome. The first time I went there I worked as a nurse at a local hospital. Nothing special. One day he walked into the hospital. Our eyes locked of course and that's how I fell in love with him. He would take me out on dates and we would have the greatest nights."

"Then what happened?" The curiosity clear in my tone.

"Well, one day after coming home, I found him laying in bed with another. I couldn't believe it, the man that I thought loved me, hurt me. I left the house storming off and crying. Then that's how I met you father. He stopped me and asked me what was wrong. He's eyes were so enchanting. I told him the whole story and he took me to get ice-cream so I could cool down. What did he think I was, 12? And soon we became friends, to best friends and before I knew it... Lovers"

My mother spoke in a gentle tone, she still had her youthful spirit embedded in her and I loved it. She has been so accepting and patient with me. That's why I love her. Her story made me wonder how love would feel, how it would feel to be held so dearly in the hands of your significant other.

"Come on, let's start with this pie" we got up and grabbed the baskets with us back to the cottage. I wonder were I'd end up.

Once we finally reached home, we placed the baskets on the kitchen counter. I helped my mother rinse and chop the berries. "Y/N, don't cut the berries like that, cut them with care." my mother joked.

After cutting the berries, I mixed in some honey and some sugar to balance out the flavour. My mother layed out the pastry on the already greased dish. "This is how you do it", she scooped a bunch of the berries and place it in the centre of the pastry before drizzling custard on top of the berries.

I could feel my mouth water but that was soon stopped by the front door flinging right open. "WHERE'S MY DAUGHTER?!" my father frantically looked around. "I'm right here." I answered, a bit concerned about what he had to say . He stormed over to me with a letter in his hand. Before I knew it I was drawn into a warm embrace.

"I CAN'T EVEN EXPLAIN HOW PROUD I AM!" I could feel his tears drip on to my shoulder. "Thanks but I don't know what you're proud of me for."

My father pulled aways and handed me the already opened letter. I unfolded the piece of paper and saw the words I've been waiting to see. "You've been accepted to Kyojin Academy." I read aloud. My mother let out a happy squeal and i was left in shock. No doubt I was happy but it was so hard to believe that I was accepted to one of the most prestigious universities.

"LET'S CELEBRATE! HONEY, GET THE WINE AND LETS HAVE SOME PIE!"
