Third person pov :

It was winter break, and most of the Hogwarts students had left and gone to visit home for Christmas. Hermione and Luna however, decided to stay at Hogwarts to spend more time together. The two sent letters to their parents, hoping that they would understand, and to their success, they did. Well, only because they were untruthful about it of course. 

Dear mum and dad,

As much as I would love to go home for winter break and have fun unwrapping all the gifts on Christmas Day, I can't. I hope you can understand that I am of age to start dating and all, so I would like to spend time at Hogwarts with my boyfriend. I'll tell you more about him during summer break. Enjoy your holidays!

Luna sent the same letter to her father as well, except without the initials at the end of course, as she had replace them with her own.

It wasn't a big lie..they just accidentally wrote the wrong pronouns..ok maybe that was also a lie. But what were they supposed to tell them? "I wanna spend time at Hogwarts with my girlfriend, so see you soon!" Absolutely not.

Although it was winter break, Hermione was still fixated on studying, like usual. She had her face in her book and had a look of concentration. At least, she did, until somebody had walked into the common room. That person was in fact, Hermione's lovely girlfriend, Luna Lovegood. 

People teased Hermione for dating someone as crazy, or loony, as they liked to call it,  as Luna, but she didn't care. She usually ignored them. Maybe sometimes she would give them the middle finger and tell them to fuck off, but that was only once or twice. Okay maybe three times, but it wasn't her fault, they were talking shit about her girlfriend after all.  And nobody talks shit about her girlfriend.

"Hello, my love," Luna cooed, in her dreamy voice, which may or may not have resulted in Hermione flushing a deep red. She loved it when Luna called her that, or anything really.

"Hey babe," Hermione replied. The brunette thought her girlfriend looked beautiful today. "What are you doing," Luna asked, plopping down next to her. "Studying," Hermione answered. "Studying? ," the blonde exclaimed, "It's winter break!" 

"I'm aware"

"..well can you make room in your schedule for a study break?" Luna asked, hoping she'd say yes. "Sorry baby but I really can't-," the girl replied, before looking up at Luna, who had a pouty look on her face. And reluctantly, she answered..

"Fine."

Luna took her girlfriend to her dorm, watched a movie, cuddled, and of course,  made two classic cups of hot cocoa, for her and Hermione to share.

The two went on a walk out in the snow, which was chillier than usual, most likely because Hermione had none of her thicker coats clean, and was stuck wearing a normal, plain, hoodie, that was definitely not suited for this kind of weather.

Hermione was shivering, which Luna obviously took notice of. Luna slid off her jacket, which unlike Hermione's, was thick, and way warmer, and bonus points, was very, very fluffy, and wrapped it around her icy cold girlfriend.

Luna and Hermione took a long trip to the Three broomsticks in Hogsmeade, and slurped down 1 cup of hot butter beer each. The duo found a comfortable looking spot, under a tree, and sat down to relax. Hermione reached for Luna's hand, which the blonde accepted, and from then, the two stared lovingly at each other, and admired their features, without saying a single word. 

They traveled back to Hogwarts, Hermione walked while Luna skipped joyfully toward the entry. The two sneaked back to Luna's dorm, as it was indeed past curfew, and hopped into the girl's bed.

"I love you 'Mione," Luna whispered, in a raspy voice, that Hermione found quite cute. 

"I love you too, my moon," 

And only a few minutes later, the couple fell asleep, embracing each other in their arms while doing so.
