Third person pov:

Hermione was outside in the rain. She sat under a tree and began to read a book she had gotten from the library a few days ago. Hermione thought the rain was soothing. Ron had gotten mad at her a few days ago because apparently their zodiac signs weren't compatible. She honestly didn't know what a 'zodiac sign' was, nor would she try to figure out.

Hermione spotted someone familiar walking toward the tree. The girl plopped down onto the grass and dug her face into her arms. It was Luna.

Had she been crying?

It was unusual to see Luna cry, due to her constant happiness.

Apparently the girl had not noticed that Hermione was there, as she had jumped slightly when the brunette called her name.

"Luna? Are you alright?"

Luna kept her face in her arms, mumbling a "yep" as an answer. Of course this was not enough to convince Hermione, so she scooted toward the blonde and held her. Luna broke down.

"What's happened?" Hermione asked, a worried look on her face.

Luna reluctantly answered. "My father, he went missing a couple of days ago, and the ministry is only informing me now."

Hermione had felt what it was like to be in Luna's shoes, she knew what it felt like to lose her parents. She had to obliviate them before the war.

It was growing cold outside, so Hermione offered to help Luna inside of the gryfindor common room and help her warm up. She was considering making tea, but hot cocoa seemed best.

Luna sat down on the chair near the fireplace and got lost in her thoughts. Hermione was done making their hot cocoa and took a seat next to the blonde.

Although Luna was sitting near the fireplace, she was still shivering. It could be from the fact that her hair was soaking wet and her clothes were drenched, but Hermione thought otherwise. Luna was scared. She was frightened by the thought of her father being dead.

"Luna?", Hermione asked.

The blonde hummed in response.

"I hope you know that you're cared for. No matter what happens with your father, we'll help you get through it."

And with that, Luna walked towards Hermione, and gave her a big hug. Luna buried her face in the crook of Hermione's neck. She looked up at the brunette and formed a grateful smile. Hermione quickly returned it.

"Thank you."
