Hermione's pov :

Potions. I have always hated potions. But Im pretty decent at it, considering I got an Exceeds Expectations on my O.W.L. , so I've continued taking the classes. At least we have a new teacher this year, Professor Slughorn, was it? Well classes are almost over anyways, just a couple more minutes to go!-

"Hermione?" Harry had spoken, "Classes are over, aren't you coming?," snapping me out of my thoughts.

Classes are over already?

"You weren't answering when Ron and I asked you to help with our homework, so I figure you just didn't hear us, but it's been over ten minutes now!" 

I've been zoned out for 10 minutes?!

"Oh sorry, um yeah, I'll be right there!," I rushed out, gathering my stuff as I spoke. "Okay, well I'd better get going, I've told the team we were having quidditch practice today!" the boy had informed, before running out of the classroom, dropping a few of his supplies as he went.

What is up with boys and quidditch?

I walked out of the class room into the halls, before I heard my name from a very, well peculiar  voice. 

" Hermione! Hi! Hello..! I was just wondering if you could help me find a book in the library?" Luna had slightly yelled, looking a bit flushed as she did so.

"..um, sure Luna! We can go right now if you'd like?" I responded.

As much as I'd hate to admit it, she looked really cute today..

"I'd like that.," the blonde girl answered.

-Time skip cause I'm lazy-

"So what book were you looking for?" I asked.

"It's actually a muggle book, it's called 'Where Darkness and Sunlight Collide', have you heard about it?" (I'm not even sure that's a real book so, sorry!) 

"Oh I've read that one!" I exclaimed, forgetting that we were in a library. "Follow me!" I said quietly, internally screaming at myself since I could've interrupted someone's study session. 

Hermione guided Luna through the library as they awkwardly chatted.

God her voice is cute..- Wait no! Hermione don't think like that! Remember, she is Loony Lovegood, what would people think?! AGHHH she's so pretty though! And do I really have to remind you? You are straight! You don't like girls like that! Okay but her hair looks so soft! And her lips-

"Hermione?" Luna whispered, concerned, as the clever girl had stopped walking and was staring at the wall. 

"Yes?" I answered, before noticing the six foot distance between the two of us. "Oh, heh.., sorry!" trying to make this conversation less awkward, but making it even worse. I quickly rushed over, hoping I didn't ruin the slight friendship we created since the end of potions.

Oh my god, I am so stupid.

"Oh hey look, isn't that the book you were looking for?! ," I exclaimed, once again, forgetting we were in a library. 

"Ooh, yes! There it is!" she squealed with a smile forming on her face.

Oh my gosh, she's even cuter when she's happy! OML shut up! You don't like her like that!

I reached over to grab the book for her, before noticing she was about to do the same. 

....

Our hands touched.

( lol this is so cliche ) 

It felt like a swarm of butterflies had been set free in my stomach. I could only hope she felt the same..

I looked up at her but she was staring down. 

Did I say something?

No you idiot, you haven't even spoken a word since the six foot situation happened.

Oh. Right..

Maybe there was a possibility that she was blushing?

"Thanks for helping me find the book Mione!" Luna thanked me.

AHHH! SHE CALLED ME MIONE!!

" Yeah no problem!" I rushed out before looking down.

Oh dear god, I hope she didn't see me.

"I really needed it for my Muggle Studies classes!" she informed me with a grateful smile. 

"See you soon!" Luna mumbled before turning around and heading to a nearby table to read.

Right, she was studying..
