It was a regular weekday for Dream. He was walking to the rink for his hockey practice. He was placing his stuff on the benches when he saw a sparkly, red bag. He curiously looked around then, looked back at the bag, confused.
'There is no way one of my teammates owns this..' Dream thought to himself.
Dream looked around once again to see a short, brunette walking his way. The boy was wearing a blue shirt and a red, sparkly skirt to match the bag. Dream immediately assumed it was his bag so he sat down and put on his skates.
"Hey, good luck this weekend." The brunette he saw earlier spoke.
Dream smiled. "Thank you!"
The stranger sat next to Dream and started taking his skates off. "I'm George. I actually figure skate here and normally come to the hockey games."
Dream slipped a skate off his foot. "Oh! That's so cool." He smiled.
George stayed seated until Dream left to practice. After he left, George slipped a note with his number on it into Dream's bag. After practice, Dream talked with his team. They all agreed to meet up for lunch. He noticed the note inside his bag and smiled.
"Hey, Big D! Ready for the game this weekend?" Dream's teammate, Tommy, asked. "Ooo! What's that in your hand?"
Dream looked down at the note George had given him. "My friend gave me their number."
"Cool. What's their name?" Tommy asked.
Dream sighed. "George."
"Like the figure skater? That George?" Tommy questioned.
"Yes." Dream finished packing everything up and walked towards the exit.
Tommy followed close behind. "So, where are we going?"
"I don't think I want to go out right now. Bye, Tom." Dream opened his car door.
"Oh, okay. Bye." Tommy felt disappointed.
A few hours later, Dream gets a text from George. The text reads, 'Hey, wanna meet up for a coffee? :)'. Dream smiled at the message and replied with, 'Yes! Let's meet at Alec's in 20. Does that sound good?'. The reply bubble pops up almost immediately. George wrote a simple, 'Of course!'. Dream hopped in his car and drove towards the coffee shop. He arrived in a black hoodie, gray sweatpants, and black vans. Dream finds George waiting on a bench outside.
"Well, hello there." Dream smiles.
George was startled at the voice. "Oh hey!" He turned off his phone.
Dream opened the door for George and they walked inside. George ordered a mocha latte and Dream ordered a caramel coffee. The boys sat down after grabbing their drinks. It was winter in London and snow was falling outside the window. They sat down at a two person table by the beautiful, huge window.
"So, I actually forgot to tell you but, I am only in town for the skating competition." George confessed.
"Yeah..." Dream paused. "And?"
George sighed. "Listen, I like you, Dream. I think you are a really amazing person but I'm leaving this weekend."
"Oh." That was all Dream could say.
The two boys talked for a while, learning about each other's lives. When the date came to an end, Dream felt he had to do something. Dream had always felt that the most romantic kisses always happen in the snow so, as George and Dream walk out of the coffee shop, he pulls George in. Their faces are inches apart. George closes the gap for a few seconds then is back to their previous position.
"Woah.." Dream was astonished.
George's cheeks turned red. "Yeah, woah."
The boys say goodbye and smile at each other before parting. George's comp was the next day and he would be leaving afterwards. Dream drove home and went into his room just to fall asleep a few minutes later.
The next day, Dream woke up to see the time was 9:00 a.m. He had to get ready for George's competition. He dressed appropriately and drove to the rink. He was greeted at the door by George.
"Hey!" Dream smiled.
George smiled back. "Hello!"
The brunette grabbed the blonde's hand and walked him to the rink. George sat Dream down on the bench.
"Front row to see your favorite person perform." George did a fake hair flip.
Dream giggled before placing a light kiss on George's cheek and sitting down. George's skating partner watched from above and his heart sunk. George's partner actually had feelings for him but has never confessed or even hinted at his love.
"Bye, George!" Dream waved to George as he went out onto the rink.
George's partner gave Dream a look before he skated out to his partner. The performance started and everyone was amazed. George twisted and turned in his partner's arms. The music ended and the two skaters became statues. The crowd erupted into cheers, Dream's being the loudest.
"How'd I do?" George asked after coming out of the rink.
Dream smiled. "You did great."
George placed a soft kiss on Dream's lips. The two boys hugged. The announcer interrupted their moment.
"And the winner is..." A drum roll sound effect played over the speakers. "George and Austin! Congrats on winning the Figure London Competition!"
George jumped and hugged his partner. The group danced and cheered. The auditorium was cheerful, people were laughing and having the times of their lives. After George cleaned up, they walked out of the arena.
"Well, I guess this is it." George felt tears grow in his eyes.
Realization hit Dream, this was his last time with George. "Yeah. I guess it is."
"I hope we meet again someday." George smiles.
Dream hugs George. "We'll keep in touch." He pulls away from the hug.
George looks Dream in the eyes. "No matter how far away you are, just know I will always love you."
Dream blushed. "I will always love you too."
George stood on his toes and kissed Dream. He waved goodbye and drove away in his car.
That was it... That was goodbye..
