Grindelwald's Marauders

Olive stayed by Grindelwald's side and occasionally tipped some water into his mouth as he slept to keep him hydrated. 

Sirius did all of the coming and going from the hospital wing to his house in Grimmauld Place. Remus thought it would be best if the rest of the school were kept away from the hospital wing. Remus had given Grindelwald's side of the wing the silent treatment which meant Sirius also had to be the messenger between the pair.

"Olive, come over here." Sirius called over to her from Lucius' bedside. Remus and Sirius were sat either side of Lucis as he slept.

"Why?" She asked while staring at Grindelwald.

"So we can all speak together."

Olive rolled her eyes, and made her way over to Sirius and sat beside him. They sat on the left side of Lucius while Remus stayed on his right.

"Do you think they'll recover properly?" She asked. Olive kept looking back at Grindelwald in case she missed him doing something.

"Hmm, the nurse says so." Sirius said.

"...So you two went to school with Lucius Malfoy?" She asked after an awkward silence.

"Unfortunately yes." Remus said with a smirk.

"What was that like; you both dislike him, don't you?"

Both men grinned. "Lucius has always been stuck up." Sirius said. "He has got slightly more tolerable with age, but not enough."

"And Gellert?"

"He went to a far away school." Remus informed her. "Dermstrang, I think it was called-"

"They competed in the Triwizard tournament, right?"

"Yes, a bad school with even worse teachers. No wonder Grindelwald turned out the way he did." Sirius said.

"He isn't too bad though. He is no angel, but he is kind at times." She said while staring at him sleeping from where she was. "How did Grindelwald become famous?"

"Purely for being bad." Remus told her. "He has been an idiot since he left school as a teen-"

"He got thrown out of Durmstrang for starting fights and things-"

"Indeed, Sirius. He was old friends with old Dumbledore, don't you know? They were friends in their adolescences. After a while though; they had an awful falling out and went their separate ways after Albus' sister died..."

"How did she die?"

"No body ever found out. Some say it was a freak accident and some say she was just kidnapped or something. Albus' never liked to share what happened to her while he was alive." Remus finished.

"So, Grindelwald left school and kept being more and more naughty?"

"Uh-huh. Once he reached manhood he became uncontrollable. Albus tried to write him owls to tell him to stop with these silly games, but he never listened. After a while, nothing else could be done. Albus would make himself sick with worry and sadness so after a while of being ignored Albus went on a trip to find Grindelwald and stop him for good."

"Wow, when was this?"

"Many years ago, Olive. Albus left for about a month then returned, but never returned the same as he left."

"How do you mean, Remus? Was he injured?"

"No, not physically changed just emotionally. He never smiled or spoke of what went on between them or even discussed anything of his childhood again as if it was wiped from his memory or something-"

"Or maybe even too painful as if Grindelwald haunted his dreams and thoughts" Sirius added.

"Then he died?"

"Albus died about 40 years later, Grindelwald stayed under the radar for a long time until his death. It was as if Albus' death woke him up again. Although, Grindelwald has never caused the same amount of damage as he used to since Albus died." Remus ended.

There was silence for a few minutes after this. Nobody knew what else to say. Olive never knew how closed Grindelwald and Albus must have been. When she was a student at Hogwarts, she even recalled that Albus rarely spoke about himself and his upbringing, even if someone asked him about it. She felt bad that it took so long for her to realise that he was so unhappy.

"And Lucius?"

"Lucius came here with us." Sirius said. "Little moron. He was in Slytherin of course much like the rest of my family. He ended up marrying my cousin Narcissa, and made her a Malfoy. They always argued and things, but after I while (Once I went to Azkaban) I never heard for any of the family again. Don't know how they are now-"

"Lucius told me he was getting a divorce." Olive spilled.

"What?" Remus and Sirius both said in unison.

"and she's taking the baby."

"Damn, I never knew there was a baby." Sirius said.

"He told me not to tell anyone, that's why he's been so moody recently. Please don't tell him I said anything about it."

"We won't, Olive." Remus told her.
