Dream comes down with a stomach bug while George and Sapnap are out of town for the weekend.

Alone time is something Dream thought he would miss a lot more than he actually does after moving in with two other people. For as long as he can remember, he has been someone who enjoys his own company, who prefers to sort things out himself. Make his own food, wash his own clothes, deal with his own problems, and take care of himself if he ever gets sick or anything like that.
But with George and Sapnap, he never feels like he needs that time to himself. He likes to have them around all the time, likes to let them help him with things, and be there to comfort him when feelings become too much. His regression is probably the main reason for it, but he likes it when he's big as well.
In fact, little Dream dislikes even just the idea of being alone for more than a few minutes. He can never get enough of his caregivers' affection and the sweet pet names they call him, wanting to hang out with them all the time.
So naturally, he isn't exactly jumping for joy when he learns that George and Sapnap will be going out of town for the upcoming weekend to attend "business meetings".
"We'll only be gone for two nights, Dream, from Friday to Sunday. You'll be fine."
Dream could honestly not feel any less fine about the whole plan, but he tries his best not to show it. The meetings are happening no matter how he feels about them, and he can't really blame his friends for maybe wanting a little break from the house they spend so much time in (and from him too...).

Friday morning rolls around much sooner than Dream wishes it would have. It's only a little past eight am when he follows George and Sapnap outside, still dressed in his sweatpants and hoodie from the night, and watches from the porch as they load up the car.
They come up to him to say bye once everything is packed and ready. Sapnap gets a hug first, which is more of a short squeeze and a pat on the back, before they part and Sapnap goes to get in the car with a simple, "Bye, dude."
Dream dares to hug George with a touch more affection, hoping that it lingers just long enough that he understands how much Dream doesn't want them to leave.
"Are you absolutely sure you have to go?" He mumbles into George's shoulder, knowing he'll have to let go any second now before Sapnap starts to get impatient.
George holds him a little tighter, "We'll be back before you know it. Only two nights, remember?"
Right. "Only" two nights.
"And you'll have Patches," George adds softly, but Dream struggles to find much comfort in it. She can't hold him or take care of him or be of any help if he needs it. What if something bad happens while they're away? What if Dream regresses and can't do stuff on his own? What if he gets sick?
But he keeps all those worries sealed away as he says his last goodbyes to George and gives one last wave to Sapnap from the doorway. Then he watches with a heavy heart as they drive off, refusing to dwell on how much he already misses them.
He wishes he didn't feel so helpless. It's only two nights, he reminds himself, blinking away tears as he steps back into their empty house. All he has to do is stay big and brave until Sunday when Sapnap's car will come rolling right back into the driveway and make everything okay again.
