Jean had been overworked, she was tired and intensely longed for a break. Although she miserably attempted to resist the temptation to tire herself out more, she glanced at the light purple note from Lisa, her wonderful handwriting quoting "Take a break, cutie. The weather feels elegant this season. " She felt a warm flow trail up her body, ever so slightly flushed by her ambitious words. Sighing, she abandoned the desk full of stacks of papers, and trotted towards the tall door of her office, giving the clock a glimpse to check the time.
"5:49." She whispered under her breath, an attempt to remember the time better. Exiting, she gave the knight by Klee's "jail" room a nod before stepping outside the large building, pushing the elderly wooden doors shut behind her. The guards outside quickly looked up at her, before minding their own business once again. She took a deep breath in, and made her way forward.
Jean walked to the path on the right, through the soft grass just by the bridge. The swaying of the dense green leaves made her feel calm. Strolling through the trees and plants, she saw the brunette sitting on the ledge of the terrain by the river. The purple on her complimented her skin very well, but she didn't have the words to say it to Lisa. Jean gradually trotted towards her spot, and sat down near her, but far enough that they had a few feet of space between them. Lisa gave her a glance, and edged towards the middle of the land, patting down a piece of grass, gesturing her to move next to her. Jean complied, hearing Lisa's gentle breaths put her at ease.
"Beautiful day, isn't it? It's almost as pretty as you." Lisa spoke, developing a light pink on Jean's cheeks. She giggled, but was interrupted as Jean lifted her hand and a swift breeze took her by surprise. She didn't mind as long as it wasn't dandelions flying into her mouth instead.
"Flustered, aren't you cutie?" Lisa laughed softly. "Impossible, your language never piques my love." Jean remarked, turning away from her and looking down into the crystal clear water. Lisa raised her eyebrow, "Your face says otherwise." she gently spat back, causing Jean to cover her face with her hands in embarrassment.
"At least enjoy the sky, it's full of warm colours tonight." Lisa stared up at the peach coloured clouds, Jean pulling her hands down to repeat Lisa's action. The cherry red grew a soft orange and pink as the sky was built into a smooth gradient. Both women took in deep breaths, taking in the fresh air around them. The splashing of the water every once in a while, ruffling of grass and flower petals, shade from the land on the other side casting onto the river... Everything felt like a fantasy.
Jean felt Lisa's hand brush against hers for a moment, she had a surprised look on her face as she turned her head towards the other woman. Her emerald green eyes glowed in the light, her light brown hair and her beautiful pale skin... Jean composed herself, at least her facial expression. Lisa stared into Jean's deep blue eyes, admiring how the grey stood out and mixed in with the colour, complimenting her light blonde hair. Jean edged her hand closer to Lisa's, locking their fingers together. The brunette slowly leant closer to the blonde's face, the other woman slightly doing the same action.
Lisa shut her eyes tightly, pulling Jean into a passionate kiss with her other hand. Jean's eyes widened and her eyebrows raised, but she complied with the affection and leant into the kiss as well. The feeling of the brunette's smooth lips against hers, a thin layer of gloss from what she put on. She raised her other hand and crept around Lisa's neck, gripping her hair gently. Lisa enjoyed every second of this moment, everything feeling surreal. She gently released from the blonde's silky lips, gradually opening her eyes and releasing the clasp against Jean's scarf.
Jean was stunned, literally and figuratively. Lisa laughed, but only so she could hear. Seeing her this embarrassed made her fill up with joy. Jean covered her face and ran off swiftly.
"I... I have work to do!" She yelled back, leaving Lisa alone; however, Lisa wasn't disappointed at all. She felt proud.
