Zadie's POV:
I was determined to get back to the lair, sneak in, and kill Rodissius. There would be no talk of putting him in jail—he needed to be dealt with permanently.
I was exhausted but driven by pure anger.
As I walked through the vacant streets of Centium City, I ran into Skylar and Kaz, who were helping a limping Oliver back to the penthouse.
"Zadie?" Skylar breathed, her eyes widening in surprise. "What are you—Are you okay?"
"Fine," I answered coldly. "Where are they?"
"They went looking for you," Skylar said, his concern evident.
"Not the team," I snapped. "Reese, Rodissius, Roman, Riker—the ones who ruined my damn life. Where the hell are they?"
The three of them exchanged worried glances.
"Hey, Zadie," Skylar said gently, "why don't you stay here with Oliver? Kaz and I will go find the rest of the team."
"No," I said firmly. "I'm done with them. I need to find Rodissius. Where is he?"
Kaz, meeting my gaze with a serious look, spoke up. "He was injured, but he had backup. If we had stayed, it would've been a suicide mission."
"Where is he?" I demanded.
Oliver chimed in. "Didn't you hear? The three of us couldn't take them all on... We barely made it out ourselves."
I kept my gaze locked on Kaz, unwilling to back down.
"Up three blocks," he said. "Corner of Shillings Drive."
Without another word, I pushed past the three of them, heading straight for my target.
"Zadie, you won't survive them all!" Skylar called after me.
"As long as I kill Rodissius, I don't care." My voice was sharp, cutting through the night air.
-Third Person's POV-
The alley was dimly lit. The moon gave an eerie glow.
Zadie's heart raced. She'd been given a whiplash of emotions. They were suffocating her.
Between her hands were bolts of electricity, fueled by her anger.
A voice came from the end of the alley.
"I knew you'd come alone." Rodissius smirked.
Zadie felt numb. She knew this was going to end one of two ways. One of them was going to be dead by the end of this.
And she couldn't bring herself to care.
Rodissius spoke calmly, "You're here to kill me." His voice lowered into an amused tone, "You're no better than your father... your real father."
Zadie wasted no time. She unleashed her anger, the bolts hitting Rodissius squarely in the chest. He staggered backward, almost surprised she had acted so fast.
He struggled to shield himself, but his taunts continued through gritted teeth. "I was expecting more from you. You're weak just like the others."
Zadie's eyes blazed with fury, and she pressed on, her power intensifying. Each burst of electricity drove Rodissius closer to collapse.
He continued to taunt her, despite the pain he was facing, "You think this will make you feel better? It won't change a thing. You've played right into my game."
Zadie's focus was on killing Rodissius, and she channeled every ounce of her rage into it.
She continued until Rodissius was on the ground, knelt down.
