I have created a pretty nice home for myself. I've spent the last couple of months here and although things haven't been too crazy there have been a few noteworthy things.

During my first week here I managed to fix the door. I went down to a hardware store and took some parts to replace the doorknob and lock so I wouldn't need to keep a dresser pressed up against it at night. I got the doorknob replaced but was able to replace the lock because the hotel was using one of those blocky electronic card locks. I looked around for something I could use to lock my door and found one of those little pull locks which I drilled into the door frame and door.

I accidentally broke the window at one point here. It was covered in frost and snow so I couldn't look outside and see what was going on which wasn't a good thing. I tried to open the window and clean that stuff up but the window was frozen shut.

I stupidly grabbed a crowbar to try and drove it open and in the process ended up breaking the window. Having a broken window would make things unlovable so went down to the hardware to try and find something I could use.

I found some wooden plank which I brought back. I nailed them together and screwed in some hinges so I could open the window if I wanted to. After it was all done with my window was replaced with a wooden trapdoor thing.

I grabbed an electric radio from a store and plugged it in. The channels were still static so I looked around for some sort of music cd. After looking around this town I didn't find any unfortunately.

I was finally able to charge my phone again which was nice. Like before I had no bars so I wouldn't the able to call anyone or use any sort of wifi. I made the mistake of going through my old photos and seeing pictures of my friends and family. As soon as I realized that I exited out of the app and told myself to never go back into there. I had a couple of random games on my phone which I have been using to pass the time. They aren't the best games so it's still pretty boring.

The grocery store's food supply is getting lower. The store was small to begin with because this is a small town and the perishable foods were also gone to time which lowered most of its supply. That just left me with packaged food which over a couple of months is getting lower. I might only have a couple of weeks left before I need to start hunting again. I wish this town had a bigger grocery store.

And after all of that, it's now late December. Christmas is a few days away and unfortunately, I'm spending it alone. Maybe I can chop down a little tree and decorate it.

I was laying on my bed at night trying to get some sleep. It was really quiet outside, the only noise was from the wind. Some snow was lightly falling outside which just made being inside even cozier.

The silence was e risky broken by the sound of a loud engine in the distance. I sat up and got out of bed as the engine neared. I grabbed my handgun and pulled my window open to look outside.

I saw the headlights of a truck that stopped across the street from my hotel. The lights turned off and I couldn't see or hear anything else.

I grabbed my jacket and started to leave the hotel to see who they were. If it were anthros, I'm fucked. If it were other survivors, I might also be fucked. I walked out outside and across the street to the house. When I got closer to the truck I could smell diesel emanating from it.

I could also see that it wasn't a military vehicle in any way so it wasn't any sort of anthro. I figured they were just survivors who were looking for a place to stay, and they probably wouldn't be leaving anytime soon.

It might be best for me to introduce myself now than later because if they find out later on that I've been living across from them and just didn't do anything, it might come off as suspicious.
