Iki Island.
The sun was shining brightly, illuminating the town below, but there was hardly anyone to be seen on the streets.
The doors to the houses were slammed shut, and the atmosphere was depressing.
"It's this location!!"
Aokiji and the others arrived outside a run-down inn as Daikichi confirmed that this was the location for the meeting with the client.
Daikichi pushed open the creaking door, and the four of them noticed a figure seated in the corner beside a table.
He was barefoot and wore a ragged brown sleeveless shirt, and his eyes were fearful; he looked more like a beggar than the Client.
The Inn was completely vacant, with only a few shattered tables and chairs scattered around.
"Thank God, you've arrived!!"
When he saw Aokiji and the others, he rose up and raced towards them, collapsing on his knees.
"Please save our town, my wife, and all of our women and children; they have taken them away, we need your help!!."
As he slammed his head on the floor, he sobbed, tears streaming down his cheeks.
"Please get up!!"
Aokiji swiftly squatted down, assisting him in standing, and forced him to sit on the chair next to the table.
"Are you the Client? Based on your financial condition, I can tell you that you cannot afford us."
Daikichi responded to the crying man with an unfazed expression on his face, having witnessed far more horrific scenes in his life.
This was nothing out of the ordinary for him, and it was the same for Mei and Ichiro.
Forget about this town; even in Mist Village, they've seen a lot of defenseless individuals laying in the alleys and would murder for a piece of bread.
"Please, we have already given everything we have to the previous two teams; we have nothing left; please assist us."
The Client was the town's spokesperson, and he was given the money that everyone had donated to save their wives and children.
They had already given everything they had, and now all they could do was beg for assistance.
"But isn't fee paid once the mission is completed?"
Aokiji was perplexed because he understood the remuneration was given to Ninja after the mission was completed.
"We didn't have a choice; the previous teams had compelled us to give it before; we couldn't defy them; otherwise, they would have left us alone."
The Client spoke up, desperately emphasizing the injustice to them.
Hearing his remarks, Aokiji, who possessed Observation Haki, felt his aura become unstable for a brief while, but he ignored it, reasoning that the Client was simply too afraid.
"Normally, I would cancel this mission, but we've lost two Genin squads here, so I'll investigate into who these people are."
Daikichi, after some deliberation, decided to go investigate the incident.
Even if it had been their first mission, he would not have tagged along with Aokiji and the rest.
However, the first team to take on this assignment and go missing were his students, therefore he wanted to find out what happened to them.
"Where have they gone?"
Daikichi inquired, ready to go and deal with the adversary.
"They took them to Izuki Valley; please follow me."
The Client stood up as he ran outside, motioning them to follow him.
Aokiji and the other three followed him and arrived at their location shortly after.
"Watch out for the traps."
As he took the lead and proceeded forward, Daikichi reminded the others.
------------------------------
Izuki Valley.
Within a cave,
Hundreds of women and children were bound and sat on the side, terrified as they looked at the people sitting by the fire.
Four people sat together, each wearing a mist headband, but all of the headbands had a scratch on them.
"Boss, do you think our idea will work? So yet, they've only dispatched Genin. Are you certain Daikichi will show up?"
One Rogue Ninja turned to face the guy in the middle, who appeared to be rather young.
He had black hair and two crimson dots on his brow.
Bones protruded from his arms, and he appeared scary.
"He'll come; the last team we killed were his students; he'll come for us."
Kakushi Kaguya had a vicious grin on his face as he eagerly awaited for the arrival of his former Sensei.
He was the Chief of the Kaguya Clan's son, but his little sister was made the Clan's trump card because her talent was considerably superior to his.
He had no choice but to leave the Village, yet his reluctance never subsided.
He made the decision to destroy the Village and the Clan that had stripped him of his rights.
He will assassinate Daikichi, and after earning the large price on his head, he will undoubtedly be able to assemble a massive force and take his vengeance.
"But, boss, even if he does show up, will we be able to overcome him? I mean, his strength rivals that of the Mizukage."
One of his subordinates spoke in a slightly frightened tone, knowing they were not his opponent.
"KeKeKe... Don't worry, I've got everything ready; all you have to do now is wait for the performance to begin."
Kakushi chuckled, licking the long bone blade in his hands as he prepared for the massacre.
