In the cozy pancake diner that Uraraka had suggested, you and your newfound friends savor every bite of the delicious pancakes while engaging in a lively conversation about life at UA, Class 1-A's journey to this point, how the training camp trip is around the corner, and, of course, your impressive Quirk.
"Astounding!" Iida exclaims in amazement. "It's like teleporting with pinpoint accuracy!'
"Actually it's only as accurate as I can focus it. It can be pretty dangerous for me if not used with care." You correct him.
Midoriya promptly whips out his notebook and begins jotting down notes, to say his excitement is palpable would be an understatement.
"Not to mention, I always have to aim where I'm quickporting to with sight alone. Things get pretty imprecise if I'm not. One time I was trying to Quick Port to a Laundromat from my home using nothing but latitude and longitude. I ended up 50 feet above the Red Sea. Pretty far off the mark to say the least."
Laughter ripples through the group.
"So you have a sight focused quirk like Eraser Head? You can probably learn a lot from him, you know, like getting used to the overuse of the quirk like how he does with his eye drops and naps." Uraraka suggests.
You ponder it for a moment, thinking, Maybe she has a point?
"That's something to consider." You reply, grateful for the advice.
After finishing your meal, the group heads out of the restaurant, spirits at an all time high.
"That was truly delightful!" Iida exclaims.
"I know right!? Oh! I should bring Tsu here sometime!" Uraraka begins texting on her phone.
"Hey L/N, I was wondering... I'd love to spar with you and see how our quirks match up against each other." Midoriya asks you.
"It's a match then, Midoriya." You smile at him.
"Call me Deku, L/N. It's my Hero name, and it's shorter!" Deku says excitedly.
"Weird flex but okay." You agree. "I guess that means you can call me Fatal."
"Fatal?"
"Yeah, that's what they called me back at my old school. I use my Quick Port Quirk to hit my mark in an instant. So by the time you see me, it's already over... Or so I'm told."
Deku's eyes sparkle with admiration as he enthusiastically writes your Hero Name in his notebook.
"COOOOOOOOL!"
"Enough talk!" Iida commands. "We must make it back to campus before it gets too dark! Let us get a move on!"
You all agree and begin walking to campus so you all can split up from there. However, as you stroll along the city streets, something catches your attention - a suspicious figure lurking in the shadows, seemingly observing your group.
Weird... maybe a fan from their sports festival or something. You think to yourself, trying not to let it bother you.
A couple blocks later, you realize that the figure was still there, maintaining the same distance and following your group discreetly.
Alright, it's either a stalker or trouble. No one would follow at that distance for this long without having some kind of deep motive. But I don't want to cause unnecessary panic in case it is just an avid fan.
You cast a discreet glance at your friends and find them blissfully unaware of the tail.
Of course, none of their quirks require them to be skillful at observation like mine does. Constantly surveying the area for locations to Quick Port to in case the situation calls for it; because of that, none of them notice the danger following behind them.
You continue walking alongside your friends, feigning casual conversation.
They still haven't made a move but better safe than sorry. I'll check it out myself. I'm the only one that can handle it without being too flashy about it. And the last thing we need is mass panic. But that means I'll have to send them away to do what I do freely.
You start the facade. "Whoa! I completely forgot!"
"What is it, L/N?" Iida inquires.
"I was supposed to pick up a figurine while I was out today. But I got distracted with the pancakes. You all go ahead. I'll catch up later."
"Nonsense!" Iida protests. "We'll go together! No UA student is allowed to be alone off campus on my watch!"
"Well, he's persistent. But that simply cannot happen. "
"I mean, it's getting late and I don't want to worry your parents." You reach into your pockets and take out a stack of developed photos. "Here, take a look at this. All I need is a vivid picture of the location to Quick Port there. I just have to see where I'm going. These pictures are as good as a one way ticket for me."
You cycle through your images and pull two out. You then show them to the group.
"This photo is of the figurine shop. This other photo is of my room at home. I can be there and home in an instant. The only thing is, you all can't. So I got to go alone. Don't worry, I'll be safe."
They exchange glances, a mix of curiosity and concern on their faces.
"Makes sense to me!" Uraraka accepts.
"But if yo-" Midoriya and Iida attempt to question.
However, Uraraka intejects. "Come on guys! He can literally be there and back before we even get back to campus! I say, let the boy go get his figurine."
"I mean yeah that makes sense bu-" Iida gets cut off again.
"No no no! He said he has this. So as new friends we have to believe him. Isn't that what being a hero is all about? Believing in your friends?"
With Uraraka's persuasive argument, she leads them away towards the campus.
"(L/N), I'll catch up with you later!" she calls out with a knowing smile, waving as she walks off. There's something about her tone that feels... familiar, almost as if she's confident in more than just your quirk.
You wave at them as they disappear into the distance.
"In an unexpected twist, it was Uraraka who came through. Wow. Anyway... Now that that's over." You take a quick glance at the figure stalking from an open alley. "Let's investigate."
With determination, you initiate your Quick Port, disappearing from view.
