"The students have thirty minutes to either handcuff the teachers or find a way to escape the facility," you explain to Tsuyu and Tokoyami. "It's meant to teach us that sometimes it's okay to retreat and get help when the strength gap is too big, but it also tests our resolve to fight when there's no other option. The teachers will be handicapped as well, with those weights that support course genius made, to our advantage."
You shrug. "At least, that's what I gathered from the explanation."
You, Tsuyu, and Tokoyami walk to the buses together waiting for your turn in the exam after Sato and Kirishima, your minds already racing as you discuss your quirks, strengths, and weaknesses.
Tsuyu nods, her large eyes blinking slowly as she thinks it over. "That sounds about right. But Ectoplasm isn't going to be easy to deal with. His clones can overwhelm us quickly. Getting to the real one would be a decent plan, but that doesn't account for the 30 clones that can be at his aid in an instant."
"Yeah," Tokoyami agrees, his deep voice matching the somber tone. "We'll need a plan that doesn't rely on brute strength. With his ability to multiply, fighting head-on will just mean an endless battle."
A silence falls over the group as you each think through your options.
Tsuyu is the first to speak again, her voice calm but determined.
"Ribbit, I think our best option is escape. His clones turn fighting him into an endurance battle. We can't afford to stop moving. Even if we get surrounded, I should be able to launch Tokoyami upwards toward a higher level with my tongue if we get in a pinch. That kinda leaves me in a tough spot though."
Tokoyami nods. "If we can chain our quirks together, we might both be able to reach the higher level and make a run for it from there. Dark Shadow is strong enough to throw you up from the ground. Since your aim is so precise, you can use your tongue to pull me up right after."
"That's a great idea!" Tsuyu agrees enthusiastically.
You consider your own quirk for a moment. Quick Porting can get me around fast, you think, but it only really works on me.
Tsuyu seems to sense where your mind is headed. "L/N, you can Quick Port around to scout for blindspots where his clones haven't spread, right? If you time your quickports in between fighting, you could clear areas for us to continue or push as well as inform us on alternate routes to take on the fly."
Your eyes widen slightly at the simplicity - and brilliance - of the idea. "Yeah, I can act as a guide while also providing aid!"
It's a solid plan. Tsuyu's agility, Tokoyami's Dark Shadow, and your ability to zip across the battlefield—all working in tandem to confuse and evade Ectoplasm's overwhelming numbers. You nod to yourself, confidence building.
With the three of us, we should be able to clear this exam.
But another thought nags at you.
If all else fails...
You've been testing a new move for a while now. It's more physics based than anything else and it's tough to get the timing down, but if the situation gets desperate - it might be the ace you all need.
"Okay," you say, refocusing on the team, "if we stick to the plan and stay coordinated, we can do this."
