Chapter 1: Another Day

Y/n POV

"Finally... it's finished." I walk away, leaving behind something that I've done.

"Well, time to go there. I think I could relax at that cafe. I'm new there so..." I start walking towards the cafe while looking around. There are many people and no death.

(I guess my mission is complete?) When I arrive, I read the name of the cafe "Anteiku... This looks like a friendly nice cafe."

I walk in as the ring bells since I open the door. After looking around, I find myself a seat.

A girl came by, she seems to be the waitress.

"Good morning, sir. How may I help you?" The girl asked.

"Just call me Y/n. One cappuccino, please. What's yours?" I said, answering her question.

"My name is Touka... Touka Kirishima. Please wait here then." She said as she walk away.

(Everything seems normal. Nothing is wrong, I mean, of course!) I lay down my head on the table and look at 2 boys talking to each other.

(Hmm, I could say that they are both great friends!) The yellow-haired boy then left and I saw the black-haired boy looking at the girl that just came in.

(Wow...love... Maybe I should find one... Nah, it won't really matter.)

"Here, Y/n," Touka said as she put the cup of cappuccino on the table. I woke up and look at her once more.

I can't lie, she is really beautiful and sweet. Sadly, I got no interest in love... Well, probably I will if someone out there makes me.

I drink the cappuccino as I look at my phone for any other task that I may have to do. But I found nothing...currently.

After I finish my cup of cappuccino, I put the money on the table and walk away. It's a nice cafe, just hope that there'll be nothing bad here.

I am currently walking around the streets of Tokyo, as usual, it's kind of crowded. This makes ghoul easier to get humans for their food. Since nobody will probably notice anyone missing if the place is crowded like this.

I then went back to the CCG headquarter and report everything I currently have. It's not much but it will help.

On my way out of the headquarter, I meet some friends.

"Y/n!" Someone called out to me as I look back to realize who is it.

"Oh, Amon. It's nice to see you here. Are you done with your job?"

"Yes, I just came back after doing so." He replied.

Then another person came towards us. "Oh, Young Y/n is here too, huh?"

"Oh, hello there Sir Kureo. How are you today?"

"I'm fine as always. By the way, did you manage to finish your job?" He asked me and I replied to him with a smile.

"Yes. Of course. Not a single one left." I replied to him after smiling.

"Good, good. Well, I and Young Amon should probably be going now." He said as both he and Amon start walking away.

"Bye, Y/n!" Amon said before they got lost in the crowd.

(What a nice day... But calling someone Mr or sir makes them feel like an old man, haha. Well, probably since I'm younger and Sir Kureo is super older than me. But yeah.)

I then start walking away and out of the headquarter. My job is nothing special nor is it boring, but I am still doing it. It's not because of personal reasons, I have forgotten the death of my father and mother. I also don't hate anyone currently. Just doing this cause I wanted to.

"Phew. It's the last one and it's nighttime." Suddenly, I got a notification from my phone.

I open my phone and a message appeared. The message is like this, "Y/n, we know that it is nighttime and you're probably tired, but we would like you to check a place on the 24th ward. There have been reports of sight of someone getting pulled into an alley. Here is the location..."

"Alright then... Time to do my job." I quickly ran towards the location given and began checking around for any useful information.

Not long after, I found some corpse laying on the ground. "I see... Now, where is he or she."

Suddenly, spikes began coming right at me as I dodge them. When I look above, a huge ghoul figure is crawling on the ceiling.

I unsheathed my quinque and prepare in a fighting position. The ghoul jump towards me as I try to remember who is this.

I dodge an attack and remember this ghoul. "One-Eyed Owl... Why is this ghoul here?"

I start slashing it as it shot more crystal towards me. I am doing well currently until the notorious One-Eyed Owl stopped for a while. I took this as a chance to attack but it suddenly jumps and stomps on the ground. Everything then starts to collapse as I figure that I should get out of here first.

Once I got out, I could see the One-Eyed Owl leaving the scene and many people start gathering around as the building collapsed.

Police began coming and I left them with the job to calm those people. I walk back towards my home as I texted everything that I found to the headquarters.
