Aru Shah and the Kingdom of Death

Chapter 4: Reunited

Using Vajra, Dee Dee and their wits, Aru and Mini managed to defeat the scorpion. They trekked to a waterfall. A very recognisable waterfall. They passed through it easily.

In front of them was the Palace of Illusions, the former house of the Pandavas.

WELCOME BACK. The palace echoed through the halls. YOUR GUESTS AWAIT YOU.

Aru and Mini rushed through the long hall, their hearts beating fast. Could it be...?

There, standing in the giant dining hall, were Brynne, Aiden, Sheela, Nikita, Aiden and Rudy. 

They all embraced in a giant bear hug.

"Ack! Germs!!" Mini exclaimed.

"We're dead, Mini!" everyone else replied in unison.

They all went off to their separate rooms. Brynne went to work out, Sheela and Nikita ran off to explore more, and Mini and Rudy walked to the library, their hands intertwined. Aru watched them with a smile, then felt a tap on her shoulder. She spun around.

Crap. Aiden was still there. 

"So, uhhh.." Aru began. He cut her off with a tight hug. Aru was caught by surprise and stiffened, relaxing when he let go. She could practically FEEL herself turning red.

"I, um," Aiden stood in front of her, rubbing his shoulder. This time, it was Aru's turn to cut him off, grabbing his hoodie and pulling him close. She closed the gap between them and kissed Aiden. His eyes widened in shock, then slowly shut as they melted together. When they pulled away, Aru could see the reflection of the glittering night sky in his eyes. They were both flushed red, so Aru decided to turn and look out the window which showed a beautiful view of the shimmering stars in the dark sky. She linked her hand with Aiden's, and they both smiled. It was in this moment of silence and calm, that Aru knew, whatever happened next, they would get through it.

Together.

"I love you, Aiden."

"Love you too, Shah."
