Opinions: Hetalia + Fandoms

A Note

Okay so, it has almost been a full year since I last did anything with this book, but I wanna say a few things about the situation going on with Ukraine, Russia, and the US, and how it's most likely gonna affect the Hetalia fandom, mostly the shipping part.

As we all know, RusAme is one of the most popular ships in Hetalia and in Countryhumans. I think people like it for it's enemies to lovers trope and it's sexual tension. There have been many fanfics made about the ship, on wattpad, ao3, and Fanfiction.net. In fact, when I was still heavily into Hetalia, I made and read RusAme fanfics.

But now with the situation with Ukraine, Russia, and the U.S, I think that most people will either stop posting RusAme content in order to not offend Americans, Ukrainians, or Russians, or there will be a boost of content relating to the war. Now, I know for the CH fandom, there is a high chance for there to be a boost in content seeing as most of the fandom are 13-15 year olds.

For Hetalia though, yes we have the same demographic, but it also stretches to adults and people across the world, including Russians and Ukrainians.

I kinda don't have anything else to say, but I want to ask people who ship RusAme in both the Hetalia and Countryhumans fandom, will you keep writing RusAme or will you stop writing the ship?

I'm definitely keeping my own fanfic on hold until everything blows over. But I know it will be awkward to keep it up, so I most likely will be unpublishing it for the mean time.

Also for other people, what are your opinions on this whole situation and the hetalia fandom? Plus, even if you continue to write RusAme or make content with the ship, I won't even mind it personally. I'm not one to try and like, attack people for writing RusAme during this situation.

I think for the meantime though, I will unpublish my RusAme story, and I will put on every RusAme oneshot that it was made before the situation with Ukraine, Russia, and the US.
