"Emily?" Emily snapped out of her daze and glanced at Spencer. "Are you alright?"
"Yes, I'm fine." She lied, not wanting to stress him any more than he already was.
"You don't have to lie to me. This is the first time you've seen her in months. I understand if you're nervous."
Emily sighed and looked up at the sky.
"Honestly I'm terrified, but I need to do this. I've avoided it for so long." She closed her eyes, taking in a deep breath. The hospital building came into view and Emily stopped in her tracks suddenly.
Spencer places a hand on his shoulder in hopes to comfort her.
"You can do this Emily. Trust me. She loves you."
"But how?" She asks, spinning towards him. "How can she still love me? I haven't seen her in two months! And all because I'm too much of a coward to face her. So tell me, Spence..." She glanced up at him through her dark lashes, eyes filled with unshed tears. "How can she still love me? Because if I were her I would hate me with everything I have in me."
"You're all she has left Emily, and she's all you have left. You need each other."
"I don't deserve her." She says, tears falling from her obsidian eyes.
"That's for her to decide Emily," Spencer says taking Emily's hand in his own. "And she's made her decision quite clear. She needs you. She loves you. So quit blaming yourself for what happened and face her."
He guides Emily to the building, walking inside with a stoic face. Emily can hear the whispers of the staff as they take in the scene of Emily and Spencer walking through the corridor. Emily's hand begins to shake as they make it to the front desk where your personal nurse resides.
Emily tensed at the sight of her. The woman's name was Abigail and she was one of the main reasons Emily didn't want to show her face here. Abigail was a long-time friend of yours and was deeply in love with you. Any chance that the three of you were together Abigail would give Emily hell.
Emily knew that she would start a fight the minute she saw her.
Abigail looked up from the magazine she was reading with a look of surprise, her bronze hair framing her delicate face. "Spencer, what are you doing here?"
