Back at my apartment, I check the time.

3 pm.

I have 3 hours to get ready.

The knife wound on my shoulder still looks pretty gnarly. I use a small pair of scissors, cutting out the old stitches. It's defiantly not healed enough but the stitches are an eyesore. I cover it in liquid band-aid, smooth it out, blending it into my skin. Also to protect it from the make-up I'm about to cover it in. I cake it in concealer and foundation. Pretty unnoticeable from far away, you can only see it if you're looking for it.

As for make-up, I'll keep it nice and simple. I'm pretty sure the dress is statement enough. Soft smokey eye. Just dark enough to make my gray eyes pop. A little concealer and foundation. And a nude lip.

I curl my hair, then immediately brush it out, trying to give it some type of volume. I pin it up in a messy bun, letting some curls hang down, framing my face.

I pull out a beautiful red dress from my closet, taking it out of the garment bag. Obviously, it's never been worn. I hang it from one of my cabinets, steaming it, releasing some of the wrinkles. I slip into the dress.

I look in my jewelry box for anything that could possibly go with the dress

I look in my jewelry box for anything that could possibly go with the dress. I find a simple gold necklace with a single diamond on the end and earrings to match. I put on a gold stiletto heel that straps around the ankle.

WOW!

I look in the mirror, admiring myself. I'm definitely not used to seeing myself like this. I let out a heavy exhale, smoothing out my dress. I'm actually nervous.

BUZZZZZ!

My phone vibrates on the table. I check who's calling. Harvey.

"Hey, I'm in the lobby," He said

"Ok, Um...give me a few minutes, I'll be right down," I said, panicked

I hang up, grabbing my clutch, putting my wallet, keys, and phone in it. I grab the earpiece, turning it on, setting up the audio file on my laptop. I insert it in my ear, looking in the mirror to make sure it can't be seen. I put on the camera ring and rush out the door.

I hurry down the stairs as fast as I can in heels, bursting through the door into the lobby. Harvey turns around, noticing me. He does a double-take. His mouth opens slightly as I walk up to him.

"Hey, sorry, the elevators are broken. We ready?" I said

Harvey stares at me, with a dumbfounded expression, "You look...amazing"

I blush, looking down, pushing some of the curls behind my ear, "Thank you." I look up at him in his tux, "You clean up well yourself."

We stare at each other for a few seconds, both cracking a smile. He shakes his head, snapping out of it, "Alright let's go."

We walk out the door, Harvey opens an umbrella holding it over us. I hold the bottom of my dress up so it doesn't get wet from the puddles of water on the sidewalk. I see this very fancy, very cool-looking car that we are walking towards.
