Some people turn up late and cause trouble when they're a mess mentally, some don't turn up to class but there's a special type of person who you can't quite tell something's wrong. They seem totally normal. Still smiling, still answering in class, still the star student. No one would be able to tell.

Until someone walks in at just the wrong time, and maybe if their really unlucky, it'll be their enemy.

"Yes Ei?" Ms Jean glanced at the purple haired girl
Ei smiled gracefully, "The answer is 58,"
"The answer is 58" Yae mocked Ei before glancing over at Lumine who was about a second away from bursting out in laughter.
Jean smiled lightly, "Right again Ei, how about you give some others a chance to answer?"
"Yea Ei," Yae teased, just only loud enough for Ei to hear from the back of the class.
In response Ei rolled her eyes, she and Yae have been sworn enemies since Yae had found out Ei was now 'the popular girl' when she'd started at Teyvat High. The bell finally rang, Ei grabbed her books and left in somewhat of a hurried pace, it triggered Yae's curiosity but she didn't care to trail after the girl. Ei wasn't her business to take care of anymore. Besides, she had a detention to go to.

It wasn't always this way though. Raiden Ei and Yae Miko had been friends when they were children back at their old elementary school, best of friends in fact. They always used to defend each other when the popular kids would make fun of them. They always used to comfort one and other. They always made fun of the popular kids together. So you can understand Yae's anger and confusion when she turned up at Tevyat High to find that Ei was everything they hated. The same sickeningly sweet smile, the same little group of minions who would do anything for a place in this world and the same manipulative and hateful side that those kids had used to make Yae's life hell.

Walking through the halls towards the library, nobody dared stand in her way, sure Ei was 'nice' but not one student would dare stand against her will. It was calming to know that she had almost the whole student body under her command, maybe if nothing else that could make her happy that could or maybe it's just her need for validation that makes her feel that way.

On her way through the halls she had three students begin following her, her very own group of loyal minions.
Sure everyone was her minion but these ones were different, they had the privilege of standing beside Ei, sitting with her, even making plans to hangout with her. You might even consider them her friends. These minions were Kujou Sara, Kamisato Ayaka, Kamisato Ayato and Sara and Ayaka's respective partners. Sara was another top student, just below Ei. Sara would do anything so long as Ei ordered it so, this was against Sara's girlfriend Yoimiya's advice, but the two agreed to disagree. Ayaka and Ayato often had classes with Ei and became friends after being seated beside her in a seating plan. It made them feel elite, because well, they practically were. Kokomi, Ayaka's girlfriend didn't quite understand why basically the entire student body worshipped the ground Ei walked on but as long as her girlfriend was happy with that outcome she would stand along Ayaka and by extension, Ei.

"They should start making these classes harder," Ei faked a yawn, "one of these days I'll fall asleep from boredom,"
"I think I did fall asleep during a class," Sara joked, "all I remember is Yoimiya shaking me and telling me to pay attention,"
Entering the library they all found a table to sit at, Yoimiya and Kokomi pulling over free chairs from other tables.
"Hey Kokomi do you know why Ayaka and Ayato aren't here?" Yoimiya asked.
Kokomi answered flatly without looking up from a book she was reading, "Ayaka slept in and didn't feel like turning up,"
"That sounds like something Ayaka would do" Sara chimed in laughing slightly.
Ei nodded causally, she had no interest in this conversation, really she didn't have interest in any of these people, or their friendship. None of it could compare to the friendship she had with Miko. Laying around on her bed, her head placed in Yae's lap. Crying to her while Miko bandaged up her arm but she was long out of Ei's reach now. Thinking of Miko the girl got lost in the memory of the last time they'd actually 'talked' to each other. It was when Miko first joined the school and Ei was tasked with showing her around a year or two ago.

"Welcome to Tevyat High," Principal Lisa smiled, "Ei here will be showing you around the campus"
Yae looked Ei up and down before flashing a fake smile, "Thank you Principal Lisa"
Ei began leading Yae down the hall, keeping her fake persona on, "Here at Tevyat-"
Yae cut in, staring firmly at the girl standing before her "What happened to you Ei,"
"I don't know what you're talking about," Ei said fiercely yet somehow still sweet, Yae hated that tone, she used to mock that very type of speech with Ei.
"Lying are we?" Yae smirked, "Ok then, I'm sure there's no reason you're wearing that jumper,"
To which Yae found herself slammed against a wall, "Don't you fucking dare," Ei snapped at the pink haired girl.
Ei was almost a little shocked that she could do that to her childhood friend but she'd do anything to protect the secrets she'd held for years here. Looking over at Yae she looked stunned, Ei wondered if she was recounting their precious memories together. Memories Ei had discarded and left in the dirt. Soon Yae recovered from her shock and nudged the girl aside before turning back to her, "Shall we continue?"

To be honest Ei was a little scared of Yae, she knew too much. She knew the time Ei didn't feel safe in her own house, she knew Ei's every secret and most importantly she was Ei's enemy and everyone knows how dangerous having a childhood friend as an enemy is.
