"So, Ei we've not spoken in quite a while," Yae mentioned in an ever so calm tone.
Ei rolled her eyes before remarking harshly, "we spoke in period one, us speaking is exactly what got us into this mess,"
"Someone's feeling bitter today," Yae muttered under her breath
Instead of responding with anger and hatred Ei decided to take the high road for the first time since her and Yae had reunited around a year or so ago.
She slid her AirPods into her ears and began listening to music.
And all was well, until once again she heard that bitch's ever so annoying voice again, "ooo, what are you listening to," her fake innocent tone was fooling absolutely no one, least of all Ei, "can I have an AirPod?"
In a desperate attempt to keep her cool Ei responded in an annoyed tone, "how about no and fuck off,"
"I thought high ups such as yourself weren't allowed to swear," Yae stated with a shit eating grin on her face, "you would've given me a detention for that,"
To stop Ei from shoving Yae out the window she turned her music up to full volume and stared out the window of the bus, away from Yae.

Finally Ei's house came into view and she pressed the little red button on the poll.
"Come on Yae, the sooner you get into that house the sooner you leave," she stated in annoyance.
"Surely that's not the way you should treat an old friend," she said with a fake sad look on her face which was soon replaced by a cruel look, "or are you trying to forget?"
Unsurprisingly, Ei decided to fight fire with fire, "you really think you can say that?" she paused for a short second, "I mean anyone can see that you still care about me, I mean you came into the library the other day and it was so clear you were trying to check on me,"
Yae scowled in defeat and Ei opened the door to her house where her mum was passed out drunk on a couch. Ei smiled at her pathetically and greeted her as if she weren't passed out drunk on the couch, "hey mum, Yae is over to work on a project"
As she glanced over at Yae she could almost see a hint of sympathy but it was gone in an instant.

Ei shoved open the door to her room, it was quaint. Although there was a couple of items of clothing on the floor and her bed sheets were messy. It still felt nice to her, however Yae felt like a storm in the sea of peace in that room.
"I'm going to get changed if you wouldn't mind standing outside while I do so," Ei stated before doing a hand signal to signify she wanted Yae out of that room.

Her thinking was disrupted, her entire plan of a day hinged around her going to sleep once she got home. At the sight of change all around her, her peace and safety in that room had been disrupted, her eyes began forming tears and out of frustration she grabbed a razor from her bed side table. She ran it quickly across her skin, the blood beginning to seep allowed her to centre herself on it. Watching the blood ooze out at only a mildly alarming pace. In her cloudy state of having seen the blood seeping out of a fresh wound, it always had put her into a sort of daze. She didn't even remember to cover the wound she just put a hoodie over it and called Yae back in without even so much as disposing of the bloody razor.

"My, I never thought I'd have the privilege of seeing the all mighty Raiden Ei in a simple hoodie," she exclaimed sarcastically before letting out a gasp, "and with her hair down!"
"Yae, will all due respect, which's none, fuck off," she snapped.
She didn't know why but suddenly Yae's look became alarmed she followed Yae's eye down to her sleeve. Fuck. The blood had started going through the jumper and dripping down her hand and onto the carpet.
In a last effort to keep herself composed as Yae approached her she exclaimed, stuttering out of panic, "It's not what it looks like,"
Yae cut Ei off, her expression looked like it could almost make the air electric, "Blood seeping through your jumper, the bloody razor on your bed, your panicked state and lastly your track record," She paused, "I say it's exactly what it looks like, roll up your sleeves,"
Ei wanted to seem fierce, despite the tears that were forming in her eyes "I don't have to answer to you!"
"Normally I'd said that's true but considering you are in danger that doesn't matter," Yae exclaimed, clearly frustrated, "do you have no care for your life?"
Ei began crying out of anger and sadness, "I don't need your sympathy, I'm fine!"
Yae look softened, almost as if she realised she was getting no where by yelling, "Please Ei, I just want to help you,"
In between sobs she muttered, "I don't need your help, I never did"
"We both know that's a lie," she sat down next to Ei on the bed, "could you please show me your arm"
In a small shaky voice Ei pushed out the words, "stop treating me like a child but fine"
She rolled up her sleeve, revealing cuts of various freshness, some were from over a year ago some were from as little as a mere 5 minutes ago.
Yae sighed before muttering to herself, "just as I feared, it's worse than the last time i took care of a wound," she held Ei's arm, "life really not treating you well hm?"
Using her other hand to wipe her tears she whispered shakily, "you could say that,"
"Tell me, what's happened?" Her voice was tender, it reminded Ei of all those times before that Yae had cleaned out her wounds before.
"So much, so so much," Her sobs began again.
"That's ok, you don't need to tell me," Yae smiled sympathetically, "how about I get some wound disinfectant and bandages and clean this all up?"
Ei just nodded staring blankly down at her arm, tears occasionally dripping down and diluting the blood slightly. She had finally gotten caught, and the question plagued her mind, what would Yae do with this information.

Yae returned to the room, sitting down next to Ei once again.
Ei finally had the courage to ask, "What happens after this?" She paused to take a shaky breath, "I mean at school,"
"We'll be friends," Yae stated blankly, "It's clear those minions of yours aren't helping you, I'm done being mad about you being popular and shit,"
Ei nodded, somewhat happy with this answer, does this mean she'd get every she'd wanted back?
"God, some of these look absolutely terrible," Yae worried, "like hospital level bad,"
Ei had nothing to say to that, maybe partially due to the fact those scars brought back memories. She'd had a fierce argument with her mum which her mum had left the house to get drunk after.

Ei brought her knees to her chest. She felt as though the walls were closing in. She was shaking and crying. The only air she inhaled was brought in by desperate gasps. Was she dying?
Her scattered mind tried to pull itself together and take deep breaths, but it didn't work. Maybe a distraction could work? She pulled a razor blade out of a draw and sliced but due to her shaky hands she'd cut a vein.
"No, no, no," she sobbed, reaching for her phone at the sight of the gushing blood, "this can't be happening,"
She pressed the emergency call button, shaking and gasping for any air she could get into her lungs.
"You've reached the emergency line, what seems to be your issue?" A dispatcher asked for probably the 100th time that day.
"I didn't mean to," Ei pushed the words out between sobs.
"Ma'am? What did you not mean to do?" The dispatcher responded
"I was upset and I cut myself and I fucked up and I accidentally cut my vein," Her thinking was becoming more sporadic and panicked.
"I don't wanna die, please," she cried out.
"We are sending someone to your location, stay where you are and try to calm down," The dispatcher sounded almost bored or maybe Ei only remembered it that way because she was panicking and terrified. What she though was a couple of moments later she passed out from blood loss and woke up in a hospital bed, surrounded by medical equipment.

With nothing more to say she weakly smiled and responded, "some of them were hospital level."
"Oh my, I'm so sorry Ei," Yae gasped, "I had no idea you were struggling so badly, I wouldn't been so harsh if-"
"It doesn't matter, what's done is done," Ei sighed, "wow, you're still really good at looking after wounds,"
"Of course I am I did it at least once a week for three whole years, that type of practice doesn't just go away," She responded, with a nervous laugh as she brushed her hand through her hair"and I volunteer at the hospital sometimes,"
Ei looked down at her bandaged arm, it'd been so long since Miko had taken care of her like that. It felt nice.
"What's your phone number?" The question pierced through Ei's silent thinking and dragged her back to reality.
"Here let me put it in," Ei outstretched her hand so Miko could put the phone in her hand. When she was handed the phone she put in her number before handing it back to Miko.
She felt as though everything was done, they hadn't worked on the project at all but she didn't think they could start working again after that. She thought Miko sensed that too because she started collecting the items she'd taken out of her bag.
Miko laughed somewhat nervously, "well I should be heading off," the look in her eyes shifted slightly before she continued, "please stay safe Ei,"
"I will," Ei smiled weakly at the pink haired girl before waving goodbye.

She flopped down onto her bed, immediately clutching once of her soft toys and holding it close to her chest.
God why did she have to find out, is she really going to stick to her word and become my friend? What if she just exposes my secrets? No, she wouldn't do that. At least I don't think she would.
After what felt like years of thinking about everything that'd just happened, Ei fell asleep.
