So
Sorry for basically dying, you know, the good stuff.
Anyways, test run.
These High Waters
A young lad sat, cold and lonely and soaked to the bone outside a tavern as rain pelted down onto his tattered shirt and into his matted hair. He shivered as the door opened and heat graced his skin, if only for a moment. He heard hushed whispers and turned his eyes towards the pair.
"You're a bit squiffy, arent you mate? Cap'n won't like that very much." The man laughed at what the lady had said.
"I rarely have a sip of rum. He'll let me go on this one." Now the lady laughed. Though, the lad supposed if she was in a tavern this late at night, she wasn't much of a lady. As their footsteps grew louder and he watched them come closer, he curled further into himself, hugging his scraped knees to his chest and pulling his bare feet as close to him as he could. He lowered his head as they past and he watched as one set of feet came to a stop in front of him.
"Hanta look," the lady whispered quietly. The lad quite liked her voice. He thought it was sweet. Like cherries.
"Leave him, Mina. Bakugo wants us back before dawn." The man, Hanta, tried to pull his friend away, but she refused to go.
"He's just a lad. Look at him. The poor thing will freeze to death out here dressed like like that." She took a step back and finally, the boy looked up to see their faces. Hanta had piercings all down his ear, braids and beads in his hair and a bandana to keep it all out of his face. A simple white shirt and black pants with matching boots was all he wore.
"What do you expect us to do for him, Mina? I'd love to help him, but Bakugo would never let us." Mina had wild curly hair, and the odd thing was, it looked pink in the dark light. She, too, had pierced ears, but not as many as Hanta. A necklace of colored beads sat around her neck snugly and a matching bracelet decorated her wrist. A ruffly off-white shirt was adorned with a dark red corset, dark pants and even darker boots that sparkled with golden accents. These people looked nuts.
"Why don't we go ask Bakugo? You know he's got a soft spot for kids." Mina looked down at the lad as he was studying her and he caught a smile on her face before he looked to the ground again.
"Mina, come on, don't-" Hanta sighed as she squatted down in front of the boy.
"Hello, Lad. What's your name?" If possible, her voice got sweeter. He hesitated before whispering. He couldn't do much more with his voice being hoarse.
"Denki." He hugged his legs tighter and she smiled sadly.
