{kylie's pov}
You know when you're drowning you don't actually inhale until right before you black out. It's called voluntary apnea. It's like no matter how much you're freaking out, the instinct to not let any water in is so strong that you won't open your mouth until you feel like your head's exploding. Then when you finally do let it in, that's when it stops hurting. It's not scary anymore, it's... it's actually kind of peaceful. That's how I felt.
I was drowning in my life before, and now I was quite simply drowning.
My arms flailed in the water, my throat scratchy from water filling in. I had never been a good swimmer and obviously that was showing. I started reaching for something, anything. I heard men shouting from up above the bridge, but I still didn't see Luke.
Finally, I felt myself sink.
I held my breath, refusing to let go, but feeling myself slipping out of consciousness. That is until I felt two strong arms pulling me upward.
"God damnit Kylie, swim."
I moved my arms and legs back and forth attempting to swim. I could see over the water now. We were near the shore so I let my feet down. I finally could stand up on my own. I laid down on a rock at the very edge of the stream and Luke laid beside me.
Not long after, we were up moving once again. Michael had a car waiting just outside of the woods for us. I still hadn't said a word to Luke. It was like something inside me snapped. I was different. We, were different.
"Are you okay, princess?" Luke asked, his voice hoarse and pleading.
"I'm fine."
His arm draped over my shoulder and we walked towards the black Dodge Charger waiting for us.
"Where are we going, Mikey?"
"Somewhere far from here I hope."
They both gave each other a strict nod and Luke told me to get in the car. I had already ran from the cops, they probably wanted me too. So... I got in the car.

Faint music played in the background while Luke drove quickly and quietly.
"Just ask, Kylie," Luke said, as if he were reading my mind. I stared at him with wide eyes.
"D-did you really do it?" I whispered. I wasn't sure if he answered, but soon he answered.
"Yes." He was quiet for a few moments, but then spoke again. "Do you want to know why?"
"Not really," I answered. I felt defeated.
After a while I heard Luke sigh as my eyes became heavy. I fell asleep soon after.
_
I woke up to Luke laying me on a bed. I took in my surrounding, looking at the plain white walls. There was a couple of paintings here and there, but nothing fancy. A small TV was present on the dresser.
"Kylie, are you awake?" I heard the all too familiar voice ask.
"Y-yeah," I unintentionally stuttered. He climbed into the bed next to me pulled me into his chest and then flipped us over.
"Are you afraid of me now?"
"I don't know," was the only answer I could seem to find. His lips touched mine gently, his teeth nipping at mine. I pulled away and looked up at him.
