A week later
Marks pov
Ive been thinking about telling Maya about how I felt about her for over a week now. I'm going to do it today, hands down. I have to.
It was saturday and since she had quit her job, which was stupid of her, she wouldnt be busy so I call her over to my house. A few minutes later she was here. I sat her down and made conversation.
"Maya, we need to talk."
"About?"
"Okay so..." I said gulping
"Yes?"
"Ive liked you for a long time now and I had to tell you that when I say I love you I mean It Maya. Im in love with you for over two years now. I really care about you Maya I dont want this to be awkward for you but I just couldnt keep this from you anymore"
"Mark... I love you. But im not IN LOVE with you. You're like a brother to me, I'm sorry."
"I understand. But never forget I will always care about you"
"Okay Mark."
"Are you still looking for a job? Any luck?"
"Oh my gosh not even close"
We both chuckled. I felt a slight pinch in my heart after I had gotten rejected but once im still with her I will always be okay.
"I'll call you later but I got to go home my parents are planning for us to go for dinner tonight"
"Okay ill lead you out"
"Okay" she said smiling.
Mayas pov
I had to go home from Marks house cause my parents hadnt known I left the house. I didnt know what to say to Mark, he had just told me he loved me and I didnt feel the same. I love him but im not in love with him, hes like my brother I couldnt think of him like that. But hes still my best friend reguardless forever and always.
2 months later
It's been 2 months and I think I'm finally over Michael. I've decided to move on, he was not worth my time and I deserve better. As the bell rang for school to be over I waited for Mark but as I was waiting I saw Valerie, she was all over Michael. I guess they're going out now. That's an ugly couple, but I didn't care. She saw me glare at them and started to walk towards me. I sighed like I was annoyed.
"Hey maya"
"Um...can I help you Valerie?"
"Hey no need to be rude Maya, I just came over here to tell you I know about your little secret with Michael and you better stay away from him unlike last time."
I started to laugh "you really think I want him Valerie? He ain't shit and yall make a cute couple I wouldn't even want to be part of that."
"You better not"
"Bye Valerie" I said walking off laughing.
A few minutes after I walked away from Valerie I bumped into Mark we laughed and started to walk home. He seemed happier than usual, then he told me shocking news.
"Maya I got a girlfriend" he said excitedly
"Really?! Who??"
"Remember the girl Ashley I introduced you to a few months ago? Ya her"
"Oh my gosh she's so pretty look at you snatching hoes"
We both chuckled
"Valerie and Michael are dating now and she told me stay away from him, and that she heard about me and him before"
"Wow she really has nothing better in her life to do but how do you feel about that?"
"I don't really care to be honest as much as I thought I would. I think I'm over him anyways that's probably why"
"Oh well that's good"
"Yea but make sure you and Ashley last or Imma fight you" I said laughing
"Of course" he said chuckling back
I was happy for Mark having a girlfriend but I was confused because he has just said he loved me like 2 months ago. But I'm not worried I'm glad he moved cause me and him wouldn't be anything more than friends.
Marks pov
Even though I have a girlfriend now I still care about maya. I only got a girlfriend to get over Maya in the first place but I really do like Ashley and we've been talking a while now so maybe we will last. I hope so.
