*Alex's POV*

I woke up to someone shaking me. I slowly opened my eyes and saw Emelia. The clock on the wall said 7:00 am. This is way to early to be awake. I rolled over and tried to go back to sleep. She started to poke my back.
"Alex wake up. I need your help with something." She whispered.
"What? And why are you whispering?"
"Today is Christmas Eve and I want to get my dad something without him knowing." She said. I rolled over and sat up.
"Are you asking me to help you sneak out?" I asked. She nodded. I smiled.
"Ok. But if we get caught I'm blaming you. We can leave tonight after they fall asleep." She smiled and said thanks. She got up and left and I laid back down. Then Dad walked in and told me to get up. I groan. He laughed and walked away. I get up and change clothes. I put on a pair of jeans and a black T-shirt that was really tight. I walked into the kitchen and grabbed an apple. I leaned against the counter and Emelia stood next to me. Our dads walked in and they both grabbed a beer.
"Do you two ever drink anything other than beer?" I asked. I finished my apple and threw the core away.
"No." They both said. I rolled my eyes.
"Victor and I have to go somewhere today. Can we trust you two to not burn the cabin down while we're gone?" Logan asked.
"Yeah." Emelia said. I nooded.
"Alright. Then we better go ahead and leave so we can get back before it starts snowing real bad." Dad said. Dad gave me a quick hug and Logan hugs Emelia.
"Bye." She says.
"Behave." Dad says before walking out. They get in the truck and drive away.
"So what do you want to do?" I ask Emelia. She shrugged her shoulder and grabbed a water bottle. We went onto the living room and sat down on the couch. We watched TV for about 30 minutes before Emelia started complaining about being bored.
"Well what do you want to do?" I ask. I lean my head back against the couch.
"Wanna play baseball? I think I have an extra glove." She says.
"How do you play?" She looked at me as if I had 3 heads.
"Seriously? You've never played baseball?." "I'm serious. I've never had the chance. Even if I did I wouldn't have had time."
"What do you mean?"
"Well I've lived on the streets since I was eight. When I was ten I had to go to school when I never really had an education before so I struggled with that. I started hustling when I was 12 trying to save up money and then I got a job. Worked for two years then I've spent the last two years in a military base." I said watching the TV.
"Dang. What kind of job did you have?"
"Uh... Forget about. Come on and show me how to play baseball." I said. I got up and started to walk out. She grabbed my arm.
"Oh come it can't be that bad. Can it?" I nod my head.
"I worked back stage at a strip club. When I was 13 I started learning how to be a bartender. I was the girls personal bartender for a while." Emelia stood there in shock. Her jaw dropped.
"Just don't tell Victor alright?"
"Alright." She grabbed two gloves and her jacket and we ran outside. I put a glove on and stood where she told me to.
"Now what?"
"Well I throw this ball to you and you catch it with your glove and then throw it back." She said. She threw the ball and I caught it and threw it back.
"Is that it?"
"Yeah. Well its different when playing with teams." We threw the ball for a while before I got an idea. Instead of throwing the baseball back I threw a snowball and hit her in the shoulder. She was shocked. She made a snowball and threw it at me and it hit me in the stomach. I multiply myself and surround her. I throw snowbalks from every angle.
"No fair you cheater!" She yelled. I laughed and made my copies disappear. I ran to the backyard and hid.

*Emelia's POV*

Oh it is so on. I was about to go find her when I got an idea. Using my shape shifting I turned into Uncle Victor. I hope this works. I walk to the backyard.
"Alex!" I yelled. The next thing I know I get hit on the back of my head with a snowball.
"Nice try Em!" Alex yelled. I turned back to myself and looked around.
"Did you have to hit me?" I asked as I rubbed the back of my head.
"Uh.. Yeah" I looked around but I didn't see her. I was about to walk onto the the back porch when most of the snow on the roof fell on me. I looked up and Alex was sitting on the roof with her feet dangling over the edge. She laughed and jumped down and landed right in front me. I made a snow ball and fit her in the face with it. She started throwing snowballs too. Soon we were at war. We both built little forts and were hiding behind them. We threw snowballs at each other for what seemed like hours. After a while are Victor's truck pulled up. They went inside but we stayed out here. Neither one of us moved away from are hiding places. A minute later our dads walked out on the porch. They saw our forts built on both sides of the yard and laughed. Victor was about to go back inside when he got hit with a snowball.
