Y/N'S dynamic was quite. . different. She had the kind of personality you couldn't fit in a box. You couldn't match it to anyone else's. She was unpredictable. Sometimes she was cold, distant, and toxic. Other times, she was charming, kind, and gentle.
The worst part? She knew this. She could control it.
Y/n was highly intelligent. She has been since she was a little kid. Y/n's parents thought she was just born a genius; since she was so emotionally and mentally intelligent at such a young age. Y/n, on the other hand, just thought it was a trauma response.
And, maybe neither of them were wrong.
You see, once Y/n's mother left, of course, they're father had to step up and play both roles. To be fair, that's a hard job to do for a single dad and Y/d/n liked to think he did his best. Y/n liked to think that too.
Jada was cherished by Y/n's father. He constantly made sure he held her and made her feel happy and loved. He knew she would take Y/m/n's absence the hardest. At least, that's what he thought. Jada was 9, for fuck sakes.
But, Y/n thought differently. 14/15 year old Y/n took her mother's disappearance to heart. Sure, Jada was sad, confused, and upset but honestly? She got over it pretty quickly. Nowadays, Jada never worries or even thinks about her mother. It's like Y/m/n was completely wiped from her memory.
Y/n thought about her mom constantly. She blamed herself for her disappearance. Y/n managed to make herself believe that Y/m/n left because she couldn't stand to have a daughter who. . wasn't really a daughter. Or, have a son that wasn't really a son.
And with nobody helping Y/n think otherwise, she'd always thought that way. And a part of her still does now.
Once Y/n turned 18, her dad really just gave up on her. Y/n was getting high and fucking girls all day; she wasn't really someone to show off. Jada, though, had a squeaky clean record. So, in Y/d/n's mind, that made up for it. Even though he kind of failed with one child, at least the other came out okay.
Y/n did not like that mentality.
But, she dealt with it. Once Y/n hit 21 she decided she didn't need his support or opinion anymore. She didn't seek his validation and crave his love. Honestly, she couldn't care less. He had chosen his kid. Y/n was fine with being the lone wolf.
Again, that's just what she tells herself.
y/n's pov:
The Calvin Klein photoshoot fully came out yesterday. The release was a huge success. I thought my Instagram post broke the internet; the CK drop destroyed it.
I basked in the support. It also lessened the blow I got for posting the pictures early. Dyrk managed to convince Vanessa that it was a semi-good idea. Vanessa talked to my 'label' and they agreed to let it slide.
