I'm not sure how long I can keep this in. It's too hard to be around her when she doesn't know. Hearing her talk about her boyfriend is slowly killing me and she has no idea. I need to tell her. But how am I supposed to tell my best friend of 10 years who has a boyfriend that I'm in love with her?

I think I need to write her a letter. Confess everything. That way I can't back out.

I think I'm in love with you. Since the first time I saw your deep eyes light up in the sun. Since the first time I saw the corners of your eyes crease when you laughed. I know you have a boyfriend but I had to tell you. You make me happier than I ever thought possible. Without you, life wouldn't be worth living and each breath would be more painful than the last.

My hands shook as I signed the letter. My breath wavered as I realized what might happen when she reads this. I folded the letter and hid it under piles of old papers, terrified someone might find it.
