Chapter 14- New Friend

"Look, I'm sorry I never meant to hit you..." Pag-aapologize ni Seth.

Kanina pa siya nagsosorry sa kin, halos paulit-ulit na, guilty much?

Nandito na kami ngayon sa room. One class na lang then we're good to go.

"I said na it's fine na okay? I said it a countless times after you said your sorrys. Would you mind to stop? You're overreacting na." I irritatingly said.

He just gave a sigh and nod at me.

He went out para ata sa basketball practice niya... and yes, excuse na naman siya... May natututunan pa kaya yun?

"Well, that was new." - Pia

New?

"Hindi naman kase ganun si Seth eh. Kapag nakatama siya ng bola, he would just apologize once. Whether you accept it or not, wala siyang care kase nga nagsorry na siya." Pag-eexplain ni Pia.

Kararating lang niya dito sa room dahil kinuha niya pa ko ng ice para sa tinamaan kong mukha.

"WEEEEE! Pag-uusapan niyo na yung tungkol sa Mr. and Ms. AGIA this year." Excited na sabi ni Joy.

"For sure naman panalo na si Emma dun no... Mana sa kagandahan ko kaya yan!" Pagyayabang ni Jilleng.

Kahit kelan talaga tong si Jill, sarap batukan! haha

Kinuha ko yung ice sa kanya para idampi ko sa namamagang cheeks ko. Okay naman na ko pero, syempre that was a hard hit kaya my face, cheeks specifically, stings.

"Siyempre naman, Emma for the win!" sabi ni Pia.

*AV ROOM*

"Present na ba lahat dito? Sino-sino pa ang kulang?" Pagtatanong ni Ma'am Furto.

Tig 4 section pala ang bawat year level dito. I guess, talagang magaganda at gwapo talaga ang mga nandito.

The popular crowd is here. I wonder kung bakit ako nandito... From the looks of it, ako lang ang bagong student kase lahat sila magkakilala na.

"Si Clark at Seth po Ma'am di makakapunta. May basketball training po kase sila ngayon." Guy 1

Speaking of Seth, siya nga pala yung escort ko. It's good to feel na hindi lang pala ako ang walang kapartner dito.

Sino kaya yung kapartner ni Clark?

"You must be Emma right?" - Girl with a bob black haircut, fair-skinned and chinita eyes

"Yes I am and you are? Sorry, sa face ko lang talaga kayo kilala." I said apologetically.

Natawa naman siya sa kin.

Oh... may pagkamadaldal rin pala tong si Jenry. She's so nice and warm, parang magkakasundo kami nito ah.

"Sige, I'll think about joining the school paper pero in the latter, I think I don't fit to be a model, nakakahiya haha" Komento ko.

"Oo nga naman Jenry, hindi bagay sa isang ugly newbie and pagiging model. Hala ka, baka masira pa niya yung camera mo." Pang-iinsulto ni bruhilda.

And all my smiles were gone. Here comes the troublemaker.

"At sino naman ang gusto mong maging model ko? Ikaw? Baka nga talagang masira ang camera ko nun." Reply ni Jenry.

" Why are you defending her? Mas matagal mo na kong kilala and besides, ninang ko ang mama mo kaya you should make kampi to me!" Inis na sabi ni Meryll.

"Who says I'm taking sides? I'm just having a say on what's happening right now. You should stop acting like a brat you know." -Jenry

"Meryll, don't make a scene here please. Wag ngayong araw, wala ako sa mood na patulan ka." Walang ganang sabi ko sa kanya.

"The nerve o--"

"Miss Buena, would you mind to take your seat? I'm about to begin here." Pagputol ni Ma'am Furto kay bruhilda.

"We're not yet done, newbie ugly!" -Meryll

Inis na umalis si Meryll sa harapan namin at umupo na sa upuan niya sa may gilid.

"Thank you." bulong ko kay Jenry.

She smiled at me, "Wala yun, basta don't stoop on her level. You're way above her."

"This gathering is all about the Mr. and Ms. AGIA for this year. So all in this room are automatically the contestants in the pageant, bawal di mag join kasi you will face the penalty of paying 250k per student in your class and community service for the whole year. That was approved by the principal." - Ma'am Furto

What? 250k? Community service the whole year? Seriously?

"We're left with no options, kaya better play our parts well na lang." sabi ni Jenry.

I could afford the 250k naman pero ibang usapan kapag community service, di ko ata kakayanin yun... Maisip ko pa lang na makita si Meryll na naglilinis ako, I would never give her the satisfaction...

"Our theme for this year is Oscar's awards. You would be portraying a scene for the movie na you would get. Magkakaron tayo ng bunutan for that. It would be a live performance kase yan yung pinaka center ng pageant this year." -Ma'am Furto.

Acting? I never tried acting before, pero I like this concept.

"So wala ng Q&A portion at bikini portion?" -Meryll

"Ms. Buena, patapusin mo muna ako pwede? Besides, wala naman talaga tayong bikini portion, sports wear portion kase yung sinasabi mo. Looking at you, I'm glad walang bikini portion talaga." -Ma'am Furto.

Lahat kami nagtawanan sa sinabi ni Ma'am, get that you troublemaker! Haha

Di naman sa pagiging mean pero, hindi naman talaga bagay kay Meryll mag bikini, sexy naman siya pero walang curves talaga.

"As I was saying, yun ang center of attraction ng pageant natin. First portion would be your intro, followed by talent portion, then movie scene portion, Red carpet session wearing your formal wear and lastly the Q&A portion. The derivation of winners is like announcing the winners in the Oscar's awards night. I expect each one of you could follow the concept." - Ma'am Furto

Hindi ko alam pero parang kinakabahan na naeexcite ako. I never joined any beauty pageants so technically, this is my first.

"I like the theme for this year, may mafefeature na kami sa school paper." natutuwang sabi ni Jenry.

I looked at her at nagsmile lang kami sa isat isa. What a new friend I found.
