The weekend flew, as it usually does, and Kate's alarm announced the beginning of another Monday morning. After she and Namjoon had the rendezvous in the hall at the club on Friday, they had gone back out on the dance floor for a few more hours before she and Lylah decided to head home, but not before Kate and Namjoon had exchanged numbers.

Kate spent the weekend trying to figure out how she let that little tryst happen. That was completely out of her character. While it was true when they first met, she had tried to be a little more flirty than normal, just to see what would happen, but in all honesty, that was way out of her comfort zone. She was normally the shy one. The one who didn't cause a scene. Ha! If anyone had come down the hall on Friday night they certainly would have seen something! She couldn't believe she had let him do those things to her....in public.

Yes, he was hot. Yes, she was caught up in his gorgeous dimples. Yes, she allowed him to take control (and take control he did!), but she couldn't afford to let that happen again. Even though she had exchanged numbers with him, she hadn't planned on using it and in fact hadn't used it at all over the weekend, much to Lylah's dismay.

"Girl, are you kidding me?!" She had exclaimed. "You guys are so hot together! And let's face it – you need to get laid on a regular basis." Kate had looked at her friend in disbelief. "It's true and you know it. Every girl deserves to have an orgasm or two a day. Doctor's orders."

Kate had only laughed at that. "Whatever." She had responded.

Now that Monday was here, she had more important fish to fry. She got out of bed and hopped in the shower, letting the warm water wash over her. Until it didn't. "Dammit!" she exclaimed as the water turned cold. "Not again," she whined. Quickly finishing her shower, she angrily shut the water off and toweled off. She needed to call her landlord – again – and have him fix the water heater. By the time she got to the office, she had spilled part of her water on her pants, dropped her bag twice and walking into the building, she nearly tripped over the carpet.

Finally reaching her desk, she slammed her mug and bag on her desk and huffed, running a hand through her hair. She turned on her computer, then headed to the break room down the hall to top off her mug, only to find that the water cooler had been removed over the weekend. Sighing loudly, she returned to her desk to see that her computer wasn't turning on. Once she decided it was above her level of expertise, she called the IT department for assistance. They would send someone to her desk shortly. In the meantime, she decided to make her daily to do list and go through folders she needed to work through.

A few minutes later, Lylah peeked her head around the wall of Kate's cubicle. "Did you hear?"

"No, what?" She replied, looking up at her friend.

"Dave got canned and we have a new CFO." Lylah whispered. Dave was not a very likeable man and most of the employees hated him. Especially those in the finance department. He was always barking orders, instituting impossible deadlines and flirting with as many of the single ladies in the office as he could find. He had even flirted with Kate and Lylah until they threatened to go to HR. Kate didn't imagine many would be upset with his termination.

"How did you find that out?" Kate asked. Lylah came inside her cubicle so they could whisper to each other and still be heard.

"Email. Check it. It didn't say why he was let go, but my guess is he tried to hook up with the wrong girl. Or maybe he succeeded and got caught. But anyway, there's going to be an announcement later today to introduce us to the new CFO." Lylah explained. Kate looked back at her computer that still wasn't wanting to play.

"As soon as IT gets here and gets my computer running, I will look at the email. That is wild! I can't believe he is actually gone!"

Moments later the IT associate arrived and got Kate's computer up and running. "Rick, can you believe that about Dave?" Lylah asked.

"Yeah, he was a dick that only thought with the one he had. It was really quite embarrassing. Part of me feels kind of bad for the guy, but honestly....I'm glad he is gone. I just hope the new CFO is a really hot woman," Kate and Lylah rolled their eyes.

"Double standard much, Rick?" Kate teased.

"I'm a guy. I only think with my dick." He replied with a smirk and walked away. The girls laughed and Lylah waved, then walked away herself.

******************************

Several hours later, after lunch, the entire company was beckoned to the large open space on the first floor. This is where they had "town meetings" (meetings like this one) and other gatherings where the whole company met. The room was wide, open and had large floor to ceiling windows overlooking the city. Lylah and Kate met up and chatted with a few other girls as they waited for the President of the company to make his appearance. There was a lot of talk among the crowd about who the next CFO would be as well as Dave's departure.

Finally, the President stood at the front of the room with a microphone in his hand.

"Good afternoon everyone and thank you for coming to this short but important meeting. I wanted to just follow up on the email that was sent this morning regarding Dave Whitecastle's departure from the company." Kate and Lylah shared a look, then turned their attention back to the President. "As you know Dave has been employed with us for several years and has overall done a great job for us. But, due to an inexcusable action on his part over the weekend, we were forced to terminate him immediately. The senior officers met yesterday and made this decision.

"You may be wondering how we were able to hire a new CFO so quickly." There were many nodding heads through the crowd, since anyone knew that hiring someone of this level would normally take several weeks, if not months. "Without going into much detail, we have had our suspicions about Dave for a while and had begun to quietly put out feelers in the event that we would need to do what we did yesterday. Although our new CFO will not be able to start working in our offices full time for another month, he will be in and out of the office to begin learning the way we do things and to get up to speed on what was left behind. Without further ado, please welcome the new CFO, Kim Namjoon." Clapping ensued for everyone, except Kate who could only stare at the man whose mouth was on her most private parts just three days ago. The man who gave her so much pleasure she couldn't stop thinking about it. The man whose number she received but hadn't yet reached out.

"Are you kidding me?!" Lylah nudged her friend as she clapped and almost laughed. Kate looked at her as if she had seen a ghost.

What the hell?

"Thank you all for the warm welcome." He began once he was handed the microphone. Kate turned her attention back to him. "I promise to do my best by this amazing organization. I have always admired this organization for its dedication to those in need. Please know that my door is almost always open and I'm more than happy to answer any questions. I'll be in the office to start two days a week – Tuesdays and Thursdays – until the end of the month and then I'll be here daily. Please feel free to stop by any time." At those words, he seemed to look straight at Kate, but he couldn't have, could he? She wasn't tall, so he couldn't possibly have seen her, could he?

"Thank you all again for coming here for this short meeting. If you have any questions, please let me know," said the President and he dismissed the crowd with those words.

How was she going to avoid him now? Ok, so she didn't necessarily need to avoid him, but she certainly couldn't have any kind of relationship with him now. Especially after Dave got caught probably engaging in a relationship with a fellow coworker. She had to stay away from him as much as she could. It would be difficult with them both working in the finance department, but she would do her best. She had to.

Kate walked back to her desk in a daze. When she arrived, she put her head down on her desk and silently chastised herself for what happened Friday. This was the worst Monday. Ever.
