Ethan hurried us as we grabbed our stuff and walked into the hallway seeing infected at the gates, the security were shooting as much as they could but their defense started to break as infected started to make their way through. "This way, Ethan!" Shouted the guy in a suit from behind us, we sprinted to get on the elevator with him and a few others as Zach tripped. I threw my bags in and ran for him as Ethan tried to stop me, the infected getting closer and now completely done with the security guards. "I'm sorry Ethan but we have to leave them behind-" Ethan fought the guy in a suit, holding him back from closing the elevators. Helping him up, Zach and I dashed as fast as we could for the elevator getting in as Ethan closed it, the infected right behind us. As the elevator closed one of the infected got their arm through as it cut it off, black liquid splattering over everyone.

Zach wiped me down and then himself with a cloth as Ethan and the guy in a suit wiped themselves down too, removing the liquid off of all of us as we arrived at the top floor of the building. Making our way out and onto the floor I grabbed Ethan's shirt by his neck. "YOU BASTARD, YOU TRIED STOPPING ME FROM SAVING ZACH. LIZ WAS ONE THING BUT ZACH IS MY FRIEND." Ethan struggled to grab my arms as he stared me in the eyes. "Y-you could have died. I-i fought this guy from closing the elevator on you." I glared into his eyes with anger before Zach placed his hands on my shoulders, I let out a sigh as I dropped Ethan and walked to the window. "Don't ever try to stop me from saving Zach ag-"

"Cat got your tongue?" Zach said as he walked over looking down. "Oh shit." Ethan dusted himself off as he walked over to take a look as well. "How are there that many? There is no way they are going to be able to contain this. How did they find us?" The guy in a suit pulled up screens as we all glanced over. "They can smell us, the more people there are the easier it is for them to find us. This is no longer California's issue, they went from wanting to nuke the origin city but because the President didn't have clearance and congress was too slow, it became an issue for the State of California as a whole, and then well now it's The United States problem." We walked over as we looked at the many screens seeing lockdowns and the President declaring martial law. "Wait so then, is there anywhere safe? The guy in a suit turned around as a Helicopter landed on the roof of the building. "North Dakota, it's where the President and many others have fled to as neighboring states have lended their state guards to make it the most protected place in the country."

Zach hit my shoulder softly smiling. "See I told you we would find a place." Ethan looked at the guy's ID on the table. "Wait a minute, your ID has a blue dot. I haven't seen that on any other ID's." The guy in a suit quickly swiped it and put it in his pocket. "Wait a minute" As I approached the desk I noticed a red file similar to the one Zach had. "That's like the file Zach had, you also invested?" The guy in a suit looked confused as he made his way for the stairs to the roof. "Look just come with me, I will explain it later." Heading to the roof we saw the helicopter that had landed as we heard a loud explosion that shook the building. "What was that?" Ethan walked to the side and looked down seeing fire coming from a lower floor. "We have to get out of here, get on the helicopter now." The guy in a suit shouted as we quickly got in and it took off.

It was a big and fancy helicopter, and unlike a regular one you could actually talk to others without those headphones. We made our way to a tiny conference room as we sat at the table. "Alright so what company did you and Zach invest in? Because I think they knew the outbreak would happen, which is kind of illegal." The guy in a suit sighed as he pulled out his ID. "A few hard working scientists and some other workers were given these letters and have been marked with a blue dot on their ID, it admitted them stay in the executive bunker but well as we saw it didn't hold up." Zach sat there listening to the guy wondering if they got different letters or if the guy was lying to hide that they had been given a cure.

"Wait......you lied Zach?" I looked over at Zach who sat in silence as he nervously smiled trying to come up with a cover up. "Well you see it's becaus-" I cut him off, starting to feel slight anger in that he had access to a bunker that I couldn't have gotten into if it wasn't for Ethan. "Were you going to leave me for it? You asked for my ID back at your house and noticed then I didn't have the blue dot, you were going to leave me weren't you?" Zach looked to the side feeling a slight bit of regret but not sure on if he should come clean as he noticed the guy in a suit staring at him, at this point he knew the guy lied to them. "I should have told you then and there, I'm sorry. I just didn't know how to accept the fact that the company didn't value you at the same level they value me, I wasn't going to go when I saw your ID. I wanted to go where you went. Please forgive me, Jake."

Feeling like I couldn't trust him I left to the private quarters of the helicopter as they talked about what would be in North Dakota, I sat on the bed as I sighed putting my face in my hands. "Why didn't Zach tell me, if they're telling the truth that wasn't something bad to hide. I don't want to doubt him, but it just feels like they're hiding something. Though I shouldn't worry about it, I need to rest and give myself some time because chances are North Dakota might have infected targeting it seeing as big groups will be there." I laid down as my thoughts began to speculate North Dakota and what they said, would we even be allowed in? If that was truly where the President went, then getting in was going to be difficult. But maybe the guy in a suit would be able to get us in since he seems very important. I dozed off as my thoughts went on and on.

"So what's up with him?" The guy in a suit asked as Zach stayed silent thinking about how mad Jake was. "Well it's been quite the adventure up here, sir. He was the one giving the tour of the newest facility, a lot happened since." The guy in a suit laughed. "I know I'm the CEO but drop the sir, after all it's the end of the world out there. Call me Jeff." Ethan looked over at Zach noticing him not invested in the conversation before he looked back at Jeff. "Don't you think you'll get in trouble if you show up at the President's door as the CEO they were supposed to be arresting?" Jeff laughed as he looked out the window. "There is no rule of law for the zombie apocalypse. But I guess in the event there is an upset over that, we will just have to wait and see when we get to North Dakota."
