(Sean's POV)

"I shouldn't have had that flour fight with Emmery and his mother," Ivann said, regretfully, as he tried to dust off some flour that clung to the fur of his muzzle.

I chuckled as I watched him. "I think I know what could help with that," I said as I turned down another hallway.

"Where are we going?" he asked as he followed me.

"To the showers."

Silence filled the hall, beckoning me to turn and look at him. He stood frozen, like a statue, holding the box that contained our cake. His ears were down and his tail hung lifelessly behind him.

"What's wrong?" I asked as I walked back to him. "You don't want to be covered in flour for the rest of the day, do you?"

"I can't," he said, with a tremble as he looked down at the floor.

"Why not?"

"Because of all the other males in there," he answered. "I've tried, but I just get so paranoid that one of them will try to do something to me that I panic and run out. And It's not just public showers, it's most places that are specifically for males," he admitted.

I've been trying to think of what I could do to push him out of his comfort zone like Clair said to do, and this seems like a good place to start. Now, all I need to get things moving is some well-chosen words to encourage him.

"Nothing like that is going to happen to you," I told him. "I'll be right there with you the whole time, making sure you're safe," I said as I lifted his chin to look him in the eyes.

"Sean, I-"

"Ivann," I spoke his name, gently, as my hand moved from his chin up to caress his cheek. "I won't let anything happen to you, I swear," I told him as I stroked the fur of his cheek with my thumb.

"Okay," he said as he leaned into the embrace of my palm. "I'll do it... for you."

There were no words, which I could think of, to tell him how I felt about him agreeing to do this, so I leaned down and kissed him. Nothing extravagant, just my lips pressed against his, for a little more encouragement and, but mostly, to let him know how proud I was of him, for even considering doing something so far out of his comfort zone.

"I'll be your personal bodyguard," I said, jumping out in front of him, striking a fierce ninja pose and making weird ninja noises, trying to ease his fears a bit as we made our way to the showers.

He elbowed me in the side as he walked around me and said, "Supportive boyfriend works just fine, for me."

"Oh no, I've been hit! Wolf down! I don't think I'm gonna make it! Save yourself," I said, dramatically, as I collapsed to the floor.

My melodramatic acting was worthy of an award, in my opinion, but he didn't think so. He just stopped, turned around, and stared at me.

"Right," I said, canning the theatrics. "Supportive boyfriend, that's all I'll be," I said as I stood up.

"Thank you," he said as I put my arm around his shoulders and we continued our way to the showers.

The moment of truth was upon us as we approached the showers. His body tensed with every step we took closer to the doors. I rubbed his shoulder to let him know I was there for him.

He looked up at me with fearful eyes, a pleading look on his face, asking me for strength and courage. I smiled softly at him and watched as the tension slowly eased from his body, and then I nodded for him to take the next step.

He took a long, deep breath, letting it out slowly as he tentatively reached out and opened the door. His body went stiff, and he held his breath as he looked into the shower room. I didn't think words would help him right now and kissing him, again, right now, might really freak him out, even more than he already is, so what can I do to keep him going? I guess this will have to do. I gave him a little nudge, with my arm around his shoulders, to keep him from freezing up and quitting after coming this far. It did the trick.
