In the span of five years, Wang Yibo changed jobs twice. He became a workaholic and had no idea of dating anyone. He had bought a small, elegant apartment on the outskirts of town.
Life has ushered and carried him from one place to another. Fate had moved him from one point to another.
Approaching his seventh year, he set foot in a new job. A luxurious nightclub in the center of Beijing and visited by rich people who are shrouded in many dark affairs. He served as operations manager there.
All the dreams of an innocent student that he once carved out had now vanished, mingled with the stale smoke of cigarettes accompanied by stomping songs that entertained the guests.
Many high-class women tried to approach him, asking him out on a date.
"May I know you closer?"
"You are a very handsome young man and to me you are very special."
"I want to make you happy."
"You're so clever, charming, mysterious, and..."
And I don't know what else.
Wang Yibo was never interested in all the relationships the women offered him. Disappointment in his heart never disappeared. He's mature enough to fall in love but still too young to find a cure for a broken heart.
One night on his birthday that he spent alone without wanting to be accompanied by anyone, Wang Yibo drank until he was drunk and almost fainted at work. He faintly saw Xiao Zhan's shadow passing by in the dark night, he cried because he felt so alone, full of pain, wondering why he had to be like this.
His body was limp and his head was spinning. He staggered toward the edge of the beautiful fountain in the front garden where he worked. Wang Yibo stood up and bent over with dizziness and nausea, staring at the reflection of his face on the surface of the pool water.
He jerked his head back. Who is that face on the surface of the water?
He barely knew himself. His face was pale with black eye bags. The eyes are empty and scary like zombies.
He used to be very bright, full of hope, and although not a cheerful and smiling person, he still had dreams and joy.
His mother once said that he was destined to live a successful and happy life. Are humans born to fight destiny?
Is there still a way back? There was a foreign whisper in his mind.
Wang Yibo held on tightly to the edge of the fountain pool. His head was spinning and his vision was dark. His breath was tight and it hurt every time he took a breath. With a limp he walked towards the parking lot, but before he could reach it, his body slid down to the cold ground.♠♠♠
Upon awakening, Wang Yibo found himself lying on a white bed in a small clean and cool room with a strange smell of antiseptic liquid.
