Chapter 8

(Sorry for the long wait)

You were watching a battle between Marucho and another member of team Anubias, you sweatdrop at the kid's self-confidence and frowned at him for underestimating Marucho. One thing you've learned from your battles was to never underestimate your opponent.

Leonidas: Marucho's strategies are hard to figure out.

Cluster: True, I don't see myself winning a battle against him.

Dharak: I think you should take some notes, Y/n.

You nod and take out a notepad and a pencil out of nowhere and began take down some notes. After Marucho was named the winner of the battle, you left the Interspace and went home for a quick snack. You unlock the door to your house and went straight to the kitchen, you were alone since your parents were on a business trip and thought you were old enough to take care of yourself. You make a ham-sandwich and some orange juice, you ate your food in peace until your smart-phone suddenly rang, you unlock it to see a notification from the Bakugan Interspace News Network or BINN for short.

You: Hey guys, there's gonna be a game of capture the flag back at the Interspace, anyone can join.

Cluster: Count me in.

Dharak: Me too.

Naga: I'll destroy them.

You: Actually I was thinking of going in with Wavern.

Wavern was taken back by what you said, she hasn't tried joining a full fledge battle before.

Wavern: Well I might not be a good battler but I'll be happy to join you.

You went back to the Interspace and signed up for the game, after waiting for 10 minutes you entered the arena and waved to the cheering crowd.

Announcer: Oh yeah bakugan fans! It's time to battle! The first team or brawler to reach the end and grab the flag, WINS!!!

The crowd cheers loudly while the teams and brawlers get ready to battle.

Wavern: So that's how we win? Seems easy.

You: Hearing how it's done yes, doing it not so much.

Announcer: Bakugan field, open!

The entire arena turns into a desert, it wasn't a pleasant environment but you could work with it. You hear a portal open to your right and saw a brawler along with their teammates.

Brawler1: Alright our first battle!

Brawler2: Hey isn't that the guy from arena L?

Brawler3: Wait a sec, your right it's him.

Brawler1: Man, this is gonna be fun!

They get their bakugan out ready to battle, you look to Wavern and she nods before closing up into ball form.

You: Bakugan brawl! Stand Infinity Wavern!

Wavern appears in a twister of white flames, knocking the opposing bakugan back.

Wavern: Ready when you are, Y/n.

You: Ok. Ability activate: Ventus tri-twister!

Wavern flew up into the air and flapped her wings creating large gust of wind, soon three greenish twisters of wind start to form and head towards the three enemy bakugan.

Brawler3: Oh no you don't. Ability activate: Sub-terrain mud wall!

The Subterra bakugan places it's hand on the ground and a large wall of rock and mud erupted from the ground, protecting them from the attack.

Brawler1: My turn. Ability activate: Darkus howler!

The Darkus bakugan roared loudly, sending a powerful soundwave attack towards Wavern. Wavern dodged the attack and flew towards the three bakugan, she kicks the first bakugan she was closest to, blocked an attack from the second then gave them a uppercut to the jaw then roundhouse kicked them away. She jumps and does a backflip, dodging an attack from behind, she punched her attacker before flipping them over her shoulder and slamming them to the ground. She kicks the Subterra bakugan up into the air before jumping and kicked them back to the ground, she lands and grabs the nearest bakugan to her and spins them round before throwing them to the Darkus bakugan.

You were amazed by Wavern's display of superior fighting skills.

You: 'Not a good battler my butt'

Brawler2: Grrr, ability activate: Pyrus flame thrower!

The Pyrus bakugan fires a stream of fire at Wavern, who jumps away from the attack but didn't have enough time to dodge the second one.

You: Ability activate: Aquos cyclone shield!

A cyclone of water forms around Wavern, protecting her from the attack.

You: Ability activate: Scion light!

The cyclone disappears and Wavern open her wings unleashing a powerful bright light, blinding the enemy.

You: Alright time to end this. Ability activate: Infinity endgame!

A golden aura surrounds Wavern as an orb for each bakugan attribute appears, Wavern gathers all the energy from the orbs into her mouth then unleashed a powerful blast with a roar. The three bakugan weren't able to handle the attack and were defeated.

Brawler1: Man, we lost.

Brawler2: Dang it.

Brawler3: This stinks!

Wavern lands beside you, she kneels down and brings her hand down for you to climb onto, she places you on her right shoulder.

You: Thanks for the warm up, hope we battle each other again.

You and Wavern walk through the portal entering another section of the arena, where some brawlers were waiting for you.

You: Ready for round 2, Wavern?

Wavern: You know it, Y/n.
