 ARC 2 - UPRISING

"...I love you my dear Emrick. Happy 16th Birthday," He heard a faint voice in his dreams and rustling sound soon followed. A cool breeze blew into him and that woke him up from his slumber. His back was cold, and he noticed that his mother was gone. Where did she go, did she go on her spy mission? Why? They were united and they just had to run to a distant land like Maxia and live the rest of their lives in peace. Her mask was also gone, he had to run after her.

"Anem, are you awake?" He called out to the carefree spirit who also suddenly awoken from slumber. The spirit then nodded while half asleep. Emrick told him what happened and Anem knew what to do. As they reached the city walls, Anem gave him the wind boost and the teenager leaped across the walls in an instant and landed on the side of the thick walls. He landed on the ground unnoticed and there was nobody during this time of the night. He then leaped to one of the rooves of the nearby house. He tried to spot his mother but spotting a black figure in the middle of the night in the capital city of a growing nation was like finding a needle in a haystack, it was next to impossible, so he decided to lessen his search radius and decided to search near the governmental buildings. He then went roof hopping and reach the area where the President's Office and important governmental buildings were. He then leaped to one of the clocktowers nearby to get a view of the area and in the distant he saw a faint battle of magic. What was happening? As he leaped to that area the magic dissipated, and the fight seemed to have ended. He saw faint traces of blue flame still burning the flammable material in the surroundings and there laid a black figure. His mother was there with her stomach bleeding. It seemed that she was stabbed with something, and the object was removed. He rushed to her side, and she saw him with a face of surprise.

"Em-rick" She spat out blood halfway through saying his name.

"Mother, please no. Everything was right again. Things just got better why, why!" He desperately tried to apply pressure at her wound, then he tore a piece of cloth from his clothes and tore off the hood of his mother's clothing and rolled it up into a ball and put that at the wound and used the other piece of cloth to wrap the ball that acted as pressure. It was poorly done but it was what he could do at the time. He tried to get her to a nearby clinic or hospital or something, but she simply stopped her child. These were her last moments, and she wanted to spend them with the person she held dear, her own child.

"Emrick." She said as grabbed her son's shaking arm. He looked at his mother.

"Everything will be alright mother. Please hold on, don't leave me here." He said with tears welling up in his eyes.

"Put me down, I have to tell you something." She said as she coughed out more blood and it stained his pants.

"No, talk to me while we are moving." He was helping his mother move by lending her his shoulder, but she already knew, that even if they could make it to the nearby clinic, nobody was working at this hour.

"Let me spend my last moment with you Emrick and not limping to a doctor. " She said stopped and fell onto the ground, her wound bled somemore and she was in visible pain. Her pain was her son's pain as his face was painted pale by his mother's state.

"Emrick," she reached for her hand and took out the glove and her son grabbed her gloveless right hand the moment the black glove came off. This made her smile, but she reached higher and put it on his cheek. He clenched her hand that rested upon his cheek. She closed her eyes and smiled wider.

"Listen to me Emrick. Our country is going to war sooner or later. I knew that we could have just ran away but innocent lives are at stake back at the kingdom." She was then interrupted.
