"All trainees with no stripes, please report to the testing room. All trainees with no stripes, please report to the testing room." The same monotonous voice said from the speakers.
"Ok sis, let's go." Rissa said and grabbed my hands. We talked the whole time. SHE talked the whole time, about what she did, how she got here and so on but my mind was far from her words. I was still much concerned about what Mrs Yasmin said.
"And then that was when I noticed I could get in people's minds. At first I was scared but when I discovered I could manipulate their brains. I found that epic!! I-"
"How can you be so calm and happy right now?" I interrupted her, clearly confused and angry about her actions.
"What do you mean?"
"We literally just heard that were here as experiments. We no longer have our free will, our rights have been taken from us. And you're calm?"
"Uhmmm duuhhh, Yes. What do you expect me to be, angry?"
"Uhmmm duuhhh, YES!" I said, mimicking her tone.
Rissa paused to look at me.
"How much anger do you feel?" She asked.
"A lot."
"Ok, gather that anger and break the wall." She said and folded her hands.
"Are you playing with me right now, we should be thinking about leaving this place! It's not safe for us!" I whisper yelled at her.
"Look, Rose, calm down. You only just got here like what? 9, 10 hours ago? You haven't seen what happens around here yet. You don't even know where you are! So what are you thinking about? Running away? You think if you leave this place your rights and free will is going to come back to you like a second skin? Our families SOLD US OUT. Get that into your head.
And what happens if you successfully leave this place? You'll go back to your family and possibly injure them. Judging from what I saw at the hospital, you're one of the unstable ones. Do you want to kill your entire family before you realize what you're doing? We need these people, whether we like them or not. You have to know what you're dealing with before you can think of acting up. Until that time, imma tell you the entire history of my family from world war I if I have to, just shut up and listen." She said and walked off.I never would have thought Rissa would say something that smart, she gave off that happy and dumb vibe to me.
"Hey! Wait up!" I said and ran after her. She stopped at the door to the testing room and waited for me. She gave me a small smile as I got to her.
"I'm sorry, I'm just overwhelmed by all these. It's too much to handle in a day. It's been a stressful week for me."
"I'm not angry, honest. I understand you. But let's get through this okay?"
I nodded and we both entered the room. The room was highly technological. The doors had sensors, the room was big but was filled with robots and machines. There were rows of chairs arranged for us to sit, there was no sign of windows but the place had more AC's than a hospital theatre. Every thing in the room was coloured white, the walls, machines, robots and the humans working here. They were dressed in a white overalls that looked like an astronaut's uniform. Their entire body was covered, even their heads. They had on head gear that was transparent at the front and white at the back.
I wonder why they had to dress like this.
"Hi! I'm EPAT2167345 but you can call me EPAT. I'm here to help you during your testing!"
"Huh?" We both said and turned to look at the owner of the voice. It was a robot. The robot had a the drawing of a cheerful face on its face as it stood looking at us. It was designed like a snowman. A bigger size for the lower half and a smaller size for the upper half of its body. It had two lean hands which were way too small for its size but we weren't complaining. It's not ours anyway.
