Rosefall's POV
I was laying down in the nursery. It had been about a moon after I announced that I was expecting kits.
I was very close to giving birth. Fallensky was ecstatic running around, getting me anything I needed. I love him so much.
"Do you need water? Prey?" Fallensky peeked into the nursery.
"I am fine, Fallensky. All I want is you to lay here with me." I responded, looking deep into his eyes.
Fallensky smiled and walked into the nursery. He layed down next to me and started to groom my fur.
I purred and layed my head down on his paws. "Your fur is quite dirty," Fallensky chuckled.
My ears felt hot with embarrassment. "It's hard to reach over and quite tiring when I have a belly full of kits!"
Fallensky kept grooming. "That's alright, it's why you have me!" He exclaimed.
I sighed. "And aren't I the luckiest she-cat in all five Clans."
Fallensky purred and moved slightly so he could groom my lower back. "Thank you for being the best mate ever, Fallensky. You've helped so much and I'm very grateful."
Fallensky looked up to meet my eyes. "Of course. I want you to be happy and healthy and I want our kits to be as well."
Fallensky finished his grooming and came back to lay with me. "You know, I am a bit hungry.." I told him.
"Why didn't you tell me sooner?" Fallensky hopped to his paws. "I'll find you the best rabbit. I know its your favorite!"
Fallensky rushed out of the den. I sighed with happiness. I love my mate so much.
Earlier, he had to leave me for a while to assess his apprentice, Fallensky told me that he was terribly worried that I'd give birth without him.
I knew I was close but Streamsight said it would surely be a few more days.
I couldn't wait. I couldn't wait to name my kits, I couldn't wait to meet them for the very first time. I was so excited and I knew Fallensky was too.
I heard some commotion outside, then Batstar's Clan meeting call. I predicted it was Dewpaw, Larkpaw and Winnie's warrior ceremony.
I grew to like Winnie a lot. She visited me often, guiding me through all of my cramps that we thought were me giving birth to my kits but it was a false alarm.
They sure were painful though. Streamsight had said they were normal and every queen experienced them.
"Rosefall?" Fallensky entered the nursery. "Yes?" I responded.
"Would you like to watch the ceremony?" He asked.
"Of course I would. I'll fetch myself something from the fresh-kill pile after." I said. I started to get up but it was a bit hard.
Fallensky rushed to my side and aided me to my paws. "Thanks." I huffed, out of breath.
"No problem." He meowed.
The two of us side by side walked out of the nursery and to the center of camp. Dewpaw, Larkpaw and Winnie were sitting right infront of the Greatledge.
"Today I have three warriors to make. Winnie, Dewpaw and Larkpaw." Batstar looked to them.
"I Batstar, leader of StormClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on these three apprentices. They have trained hard to learn your noble code and I commend them warriors in their turn." Batstar spoke the words spoken by many leaders before her.
"Winnie, Dewpaw and Larkpaw. Do you promise to protect and defend this Clan even at the cost of your own lives?" Batstar asked.
All three of them simultaneously said "I do."
"Then by the honor of StarClan, I give you your warrior names. Dewpaw, from this moment on you shall be known as Dewfall. StarClan honours your persistence and care and welcome you as a full StormClan warrior."
"Larkpaw, form this day forward you will now be known as Larkfeather. StarClan honors your nobility and passion and welcome you as a full StormClan warrior."
"And lastly, Winnie. You have chosen to keep your name and therefore I will not change it. StarClan honors your kindness and love and welcome you as a full StormClan warrior. Tonight, these three will uphold a silent vigil to protect our Clan while we sleep." Bastar finished.
"Dewfall! Larkfeather! Winnie! Dewfall! Larkfeather! Winnie!" The whole Clan cheered. I was so happy for them.
Fallensky leaned his head on mine. "I can't wait to see the day our kits become warriors."
I sighed in pure happiness. "You're amazing, don't you know that?"
"Thank you, love." Fallensky and I stayed there to cherish the moment until Streamsight walked up to me.
"Ready for your next checkup?" Streamsight asked.
"Yep, maybe this will be the last." I responded.
"Well when the kits are born I'm going to be checking on them every so often too, but I am hoping it is the last I'll have to check up on you." Streamsight said with a chuckle.
"Nightpaw will be joining me this time. She needs to learn." Streamsight said as Nightpaw walked out from behind Streamsight.
"Okay," I said.
"Fallensky! Can you help us expand the warriors den?" Cinnamonsky called to him from afar.
He looked to me with a worried expression. "I'll be fine, I have the whole moore's best healer with me if anything happens." I reassured him.
Fallensky nodded and turned to look to Streamsight. "If anything happens, find me." He threw in a stern look.
Streamsight sighed and nodded. "Now go." She said.
Fallensky touched his nose to mine and raced off to Cinnamonsky. I turned and headed to the nursery. Streamsight and Nightpaw followed.
I could feel the weight and the swaying of my belly, full of kits. When you are shown the world, young kits, Fallensky and I will teach you everything you need to know.
I entered into the nursery and layed down in my nest. Streamsight told Nightpaw to run her paw over my belly.
I felt her gentle claws across my belly. "I feel.. one..two.. Two kits,"
I stared at Nightpaw in shock. Then looked to Streamsight. She too, was shocked.
"But last time, you said I had three!" I said in worry.
"Have you bled at all where your kits will be coming?" Streamsight calmed down.
"N-No.." I responded.
Streamsight switched places with Nightpaw and ran her paw across my belly.
"There are three. The third is just a bit farther away from the others. Don't worry." Streamsight said at last."Thank StarClan!" I sighed, lowering my head to rest it on my nest.
Streamsight turned to Nightpaw and the two of them left the den.
Thank StarClan I have three kits. Three healthy kits.
