Talons POV.
I cringed as Dia and I walked in to the detention room which was full. The room was cringe worthy. It was cement blocks painted prison grey. Seriously, they just seem to want to inforce the thought of school=prison. Hmm, it is like they want us to believe school is a prison. I thought they wanted us to stay here, not want to run away and eat cookies while watch other sucker who didn't run, groan and complain.
The room wasn't the only thing to cringe at. With all the plastic walking around in...fabric, because seriously not only are the clothes they are wearing are more hideous than old lady in a binkini, they barely cover their... anything really. Like seriously, why undress a girl when she's already doing it for the whole world. It's not that I fear girls like that, I just find them so disgusting that it could be considered a phobia. It didn't help that I saw some girls being to expose more skin because I walked in. That is one down-side to Dia's make-over, the plastic girls attention.
Dia dragged us to our usually seats, closest to the second door at the back of the room. We alway sat there when we had detention so it was vacate. People always assumed we sat there because it was a t the back and beside the door so we could leave quicker. They we half-right. We sat there because usually the prankster twins were in detention and they always had something up there sleeves. This one time, Enya and Talise started a condiment balloon fight, Dia and I were the least cover haven made it to safety. They have a habit of focusing on the front of the room leaving first.
I was knocked out my thoughts by a paper ball hitting my head. I looked up and saw the teacher was saying names so I focus until mine appeared and I zoned back out again. I began to ponder what I would be having for supper and if Dia was going to come over to mooch of my food. Why I pondered the last thing was beyond me, it was always yes.
I was yanked out of my desk and thoughts. Startled I looked around. Dia had a hand on my shoulder and was pushing me out the door. I heard and saw the reason why. The prank queens were rallying people about having a detention party. Dia isn't one for many people in a room as small as this one, well actually she not for parties for in general. Neither I am so I am okay with being pushed out.
Once we escaped the room, I turned to Dia and asked "So where too?" even if I could tell by the look on face where.
She smirked "The roof where else." I rolled my eyes at her predictability. Dia loved high places roofs, trees, you name it. She said they were calming like you were higher then your problems.
I silently followed my best friend as she lead us on a worn path for us to the stairway to the roof. When we reached the exit to the roof, the door's lock was still broken as it was any other time. I think it hasn't been fixed because no one mentions it. It like where everyone goes to get away even the teachers. If a teacher catches you up there, no detention kind of like safe zone in tag.
"alon..Talon... TALON" I felt a shove to the shoulder. I looked Dia stood there with her hand on her hips scowling and her red hair glowing from the sun. It was a terrifying sight.
"Yes, Dia," I asked with a cringe. Dia's brown eyes soften when her scowl turned in to a smirk.
"What's going on in that empty head of yours?" She asked as she sat down on many chairs that have been snuck up here. I plopped next in to a chair next to her.
"It ain't empty," I fake scowled at her, she maturely stuck her tongue out at me. "anyway, I was just think about how the roof was like the safety zone in tag." Dia laughed but nodded none the less.
"You have strange thoughts, Talon," She said as she bumped my shoulder. I gave her a look that said 'pot calling the kettle'. She rolled her eyes but didn't deny the truth. Ah the closeness of best friends.
We watched a motorcycle rip around the parking lot. The rider was obvious male so it wasn't Talise making a getting away.
"Want to stay up here all night? It is Friday and it suppose to be clear sky so we can see the stars." Dia asked.
"Sure, it not like I really want to go down in to that Enya and Talise war zone and who knows how long it will be a battle feild
Dia whipped out her phone, the old clunker it was, and flipped it open and sent off a text to our moms to let them know where we were.
We hunted down the box of quilts that someone stached up here and land them out and grabbed a drink out of the stashed cooler. We sat and watched the clouds as they passed. We pointed one that looked like something and scabbled about what it looked like.
