Chapter 36
Niall P.O.V
“Let’s give it up one more time for the lovely ladies that sang with us tonight!” I shouted into the mic, high from the adrenaline of performing. I looked over at the rest of the boys who were beaming at each other. Every concert was unreal, no matter how many times we performed; maybe it was the fact that we all wanted to get here so badly that being here was perfect, no matter how many times we had to wake up early or go to bed late to rehearse. I started running off stage, meeting Christina’s gaze as I engulfed her in a hug. All of a sudden she started crying into my chest without warning. I rubbed her back trying to calm her. “I’m so proud of you, you were great. I didn’t know you had that in you!” I said to her, getting her to lift her face up and meet my gaze again. I wiped the tears from her eyes. “And I must say, the way you hit that high note was incredibly badass and sexy if I say so myself.” I said to her, making her giggle a little as she slapped my arm. “You guys are adorable.” I heard a voice say from behind Christina, one I didn’t know too well. I looked to see it was Temina, a friend of mine that I had met when I was staying with the boys in London. She was really cool, and I thought it was hysterical how open she was with being awkward. “Hey Temina!” I said as I walked over to hug her. “Hey! I can’t wait to collaborate with you guys, you seem to have some pretty kickass vocals.” I blushed a little, later feeling stupid about how girly that must have seemed. I let go of Temina and saw Ed walk over to us. I saw Christina’s eyes get wide as she saw him again. I forgot how much of an Ed Sheeran fan she was, so she was probably freaking out. He made his way over to us, patting me on the shoulder. “Great gig guys. And I don’t think we’ve met.” He started saying to Christina, as Christina stumbled to find the right words and ended up just shaking her head. “I’m Edward Sheeran, but just call me Ed because I don’t wanna be confused with a fucking vampire.” We all laughed at this including Christina, making her loosen up a bit and offer out her hand. “I’m Christina, I don’t really have a nick name but either way I’m not a vampire.” Oh Twilight humor. He took her hand and shook it. “You have a great voice, did you know that?” She began blushing, making her look even more adorable as she shook her head denying it. “No you really do, do you do anything else?” He asked, kind of making me a little jealous at how her face lit up every time he gave her a compliment. Had I already told her she had a beautiful voice? I needed to tell her again. I can’t let Ed think he can just charm my girlfriend. I knew Ed wasn’t that kind of guy, and I knew that he wasn’t even doing anything, but I still felt a ping of jealously. “She plays guitar and writes songs too. Trying to teach herself piano too.” I chimed in, knowing Christina wouldn’t say it herself. She blushed an even darker shade of red and started looking at the ground. “You know, with a voice like that I’d love to see your other talents. If you’re ever with the boys and want to just bring your guitar to my flat we could duet or something, that would be sick.” Suddenly I knew that it was too much for Christina and she just blurted “I’m a huge fan and I have posters of you all around my room and that’s probably really creepy but you’re such an inspiration to me and I’ve been to one of your concerts before and it was one of the best nights of my life and I’m sorry when I get nervous I talk a lot and I shouldn’t tell you any of this but I still think you’re an incredibly talented guy and you’re basically a God and that’s why everyone calls you the Ginger Jesus and I’m sorry I’ll stop now.” I started laughing hysterically because it was true, she did have a bunch of Ed Sheeran posters all over her room and if Frank Sinatra wasn’t playing in the background, it was Ed Sheeran. She even had a wristband that she wore everyday that she had gotten from his concert that just said “Ed Sheeran” with a paw print on it, which I could see under her long sleeve shirt. She shot me a death glare, causing my to laugh even harder. “No believe me I’m honored, we’ll definitely have to get together soon then you’d seem like you’d be a great friend, I guess we’ll have to duet. Or at least take a picture together so you can blog about it.” We all laughed because everyone knew Christina had had a One Direction and Ed Sheeran blog but refused to talk about it with anyone. I told Ed and her to stand with the stage as a background so they could take a picture, as I took one with Ed’s phone and one with Christina’s. Immediately Ed posted it on twitter. “Just sang with the coolest girl I’ve ever met, and hey, she even has posters of me in her room!xx” I laughed at the caption as Christina blushed again, setting the picture as her background. It wasn’t until then that I realized we had never gotten a picture together. People now knew we were dating so why hadn’t we showed any PDA? “Hey Ed, mind if we take a picture too?” Ed nodded and took both her and I’s phone, taking a picture of us and then giving our phone’s back. This time Christina posted it to twitter with the caption “Thanks for the compliment, but I have pictures of this guy in my room too so don’t feel too special Jxx” I set it as my background, as she made it her other background seeing her lock screen was Ed and her, and she had an iPhone so she could have two different pictures. “Why can’t I be your lock screen?” I teased, nudging her in the ribs. “Because you’re not the Ginger Jesus.” She replied simply, hugging me to know she was kidding. “So what do you lads and ladies want to do?” Louis asked as he walked over to us with his arm slung around Lola. “We can all go back to my hotel?” Ed offered, motioning over for his manager Stuart for the keys to his car. We all agreed and piled into Ed’s manager’s car, allowing us to get passed the screaming girls without them noticing us. “We can pick up a pizza on the way.” Ed suggested. I started getting tense. One pizza? Ed knew me better than that… “Sorry Niall you’re so quiet I forgot you were here, we can pick up several pizzas, better?” He asked as I chuckled, as we pulled out of the concert hall’s parking lot.
