"I see you for who you really are."
"And what is that?"
"A person that's desperate to just matter to someone else, just like me"

SHE'D NEVER SEEN ANYONE DIE BEFORE.
But, she figured that was something she'd have to learn how to cope with, right? She was a surgical intern now, not just a medical student or an undergraduate that barely even knew how to microwave pasta–– She needed to know how to deal with watching the person you were supposed to save fill up with their own shit on the operating table and then bleed out.
"007... They're calling me 007, aren't they?"
George had been sitting there for a while, staring at the wall. Olive had been listening to him grapple with it: the fact that Burke had put all of that pressure on him and then he'd just messed it all up. Half of her felt bad for him but then the other half secretly knew that if it'd been her, she would've girlbossed that surgery into oblivion.
"No," Olive sighed, just at the same time as Izzie said: "No one's calling you 007."
George didn't look convinced.
"I was on the elevator," He stressed, "I was on the elevator and Murphy whispered 007!"
"Oh," Cristina scoffed, making Olive sigh, "How many times do we have to go through this, George? Five? Ten?" The Grey shook her head softly, "Give me a number or else I'm going to hit you."
George didn't pay her any mind. Instead, he just leant against the wall of the abandoned corridor they'd found, his shoulders slumping.
"Murphy whispered 007," He mumbled to himself. Olive could hear as she sat right beside him. She looked at him in concern. "He whispered 007 and everyone laughed."
She almost placed a comforting hand on his arm.
"He wasn't talking about you."
George rolled his eyes, "You're sure?"
"Would we lie to you?" Meredith asked.
Without hesitation, and with a glance in Olive's direction, he said: "Yes."
She felt her chest tighten, remembering earlier how she'd lied about asking if he was gay.
Further down on the gurney, Cristina waved a dismissive hand in the air.
"007 is a state of mind."
George just scoffed, "Yeah, says the girl who finished top of her class at Stanford––"
"I think 007 is cool," Olive commented out of the blue, her face scrunched as she tried to find a silver lining. She smiled brightly too, hoping that she could make him feel better. "Like... James Bond is cool right? He's all fast cars and martinis and stuff, right? Plus Daniel Craig is really hot. Maybe it's a compliment?"
