"Rachel" David yelled.
I looked up to see him looking down at me through the window in our room. I was at the backyard waddling back and forth from the kitchen to set up the snack table by the pool.
It had been 10 months since we had our 'official' wedding and 11 months since he had proposed. It was a small gathering of family and close friends; at most thirty people, held on the same beach front where the proposal had happened. My dress was a plain white chiffon maxi dress and we even camped out on the beach that night. It was perfect.
"Yes?"
"Don't move around so much!" he yelled. "I'm coming down now."
"I'm fine" I yelled back.
I waved him off and walked back into the kitchen to take the folding chairs to the backyard.
However, David made it into the kitchen before I did.
"Go and rest Dear" he demanded.
"I am fine" I sulked as I waddled to the storage room to get out the chairs.
He blocked my way and held my hand.
"Rachel..." his eyes pleaded.
He placed his hand on the small bump on my midsection and knelt down. He lifted my shirt to reavel the bump and placed a kiss on my belly button.
"Look at your mummy. She doesn't listen to daddy anymore." he pouted.
Tell her to go sit down darling" he continued talking to my tummy.
Mummy mummy please go rest for me" he continued in a high pitched baby voice.
I laughed at his ridiculous impression.
"okay fine" I gave in.
Now stop touching me" I laughed as I pulled him off me.
I waddled into the living room with David holding my hand and settled into the couch.
Happy?" I asked him.
"very" he grinned.
"My house warming party better go off without a hitch" I warned him.
When our wedding was over, we decided to move out of the previous house and move into a cozier home. We found a perfect two story house which had a pool at the back. It was perfect for us to start our lives together in a new house. We were already living here for two months but only now had we decided to have a party. I was already four and a half months into my pregnancy and the baby bump was becoming so noticeable. David went with me for every doctor's appointment and he seemed more excited than me when we had found out we were expecting.
I came up with the Idea to hold a pool party with some of our close friends and family members. I wanted to show off my cooking skills. David wouldn't let me near the stove though. He was being so careful with the whole baby thing. I was so sure he wouldn't allow me in the pool today either. It annoyed me that I couldn't do a lot of things but his sincerity was endearing. David was hoping we would have a little girl but I told him that I didn't want to know the sex of the baby and he has been pestering me ever since. I really loved David so much. His cold personality that I once knew has been completely replaced by his warm, gentle and happy personality. He was happy and so was I. It was a refreshing kind of happiness. One that you won't understand unless you have experienced it yourself.
"Rachel," David's voice sounded, breaking me out of my thoughts.
Ashlyn asked if she and Chase should bring anything else?"
